  1. Ge0rG

Is this place still a place, or just a redirect to the xsf@ muc?

  2. SaltyBones

    this is a place

  3. SaltyBones

Ge0rG, you want to put the spam manifesto here:

  4. SaltyBones

    https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/News_and_Articles_for_the_next_XMPP_Newsletter

  5. Ge0rG

SaltyBones: funny that you mention it. The last newsletter didn't link it, but instead this: > Server host xmpp.is wrote why they don't fully support the "Jabber Spam Fighting Manifesto".

  6. SaltyBones

Yeah, but we can still add something to the next one.

  7. SaltyBones

Ideally how we convinced the xmpp.is people that they actually do support it. ;)

  8. SaltyBones

I actually tried to contact lunar but got no reply.

  9. SaltyBones

    Will try a different channel.

  10. Guus

JC, the tineletter confirmation mail ended up in my spam box, fyi.

  11. Guus

Hi guys, board just met. Minutes have just gone out, but the tl;dr: Winfried was voted in as a member of the Commteam, Neustradamus was not. We've discovered that the current web content does not define a license. On older versions of the website, this used to be CC BY 2.5. Board assumes that the reference got dropped by mistake, and have agreed to have that restored.

  12. Guus

(I _think_ that will then also cover the newsletter license, which is what kicked off that discussion in the first place, but that was not explicitly discussed).

  13. Guus

We can discuss this further, if desired. For now, I'm hoping that simply restoring the old license satisfies the current need. Let me know if that's not the case though!

  14. Guus

if anyone feels like restoring the license on the website, be my guest. If not, I'll try to have a stab at it later.

  15. SaltyBones

the website says we should use the newer version (4.0) not sure what that means, though

  16. Guus

me neither. For now, let's restore what we intended to have though. We can take it from there.

  17. SaltyBones

Apparently the new versions are for international applicability

  18. SaltyBones

so we should probably use those

  19. SaltyBones

Guus, your openfire setup video didn't make it into the newsletter!

  20. SaltyBones

I think I forgot about it because there was a slight chance that you wanted to make a newer version...?

  21. Guus

    SaltyBones, we're constantly updating it

  22. Guus

    next time :)

  23. SaltyBones

Guus, just send the link to jc right now if you don't mind ;)

  24. SaltyBones

or add it to the wiki if you-have-the-powerâ„¢

  25. Guus

That video was outdated anyway, SaltyBones

  26. jc

Ge0rG: I'm sorry for not linking to the manifesto, that was an overse. We can include it in the next newsletter, but ideally IMO someone would write a blog post about it and we include that.

  27. jc

    I mean oversight
