  1. ralphm

    I've responded to this.

  2. ralphm

    nyco, Ge0rG, MattJ: transferred

  3. jonasw

    neaaat

  4. Ge0rG

    ralphm: thanks very much!

  5. jonasw

interesting, the openstack foundation has a rule that membership ceases if you don’t vote during the board of directors election.

  7. ralphm

    2.6

  8. jonasw

do we enforce this, do we want to enforce this?

  9. ralphm

I am not sure if we've needed too, but I don't see why not.

  10. jonasw

    does anyone *chech*?

  11. jonasw

    does anyone *check*?

  12. ralphm

    I assume Alex does, yes

  13. jonasw

    ok

  14. Maranda

Ok 10:12 i need to be on a train need to move my ass brb

  15. Maranda

    (and wrong room)

  16. Ge0rG

but it's a "MAY", so it's legal to keep the bodies

  17. Ge0rG

In practice, I'd say that the inactive ones fail to reapply for membership and vanish though that door

  18. jonasw

I’d like to have data on that :)

  19. Alex

jonasw: I do, but does not make a lot of sense IMHO. When we review the bylaws one day I would ask to remove this

  20. Alex

    Ge0rG: exactly

  21. intosi

I think it does make sense when it is quite literally the one and only responsibility you have as a member. If you can't be bothered to vote three times in a row...

  22. Ge0rG

intosi: absolutely, and it might sense to enforce that rule

  23. intosi

I use showing-up-for-the-voting history of members when deciding on how to cast my votes as well.

  24. intosi

Not as the only factor, obviously ;)

  25. Alex

the members who do not vote are usually the members who do not reapply. I have not really seen exceptions to this in the last years. we just kick them a quarter before they leave anyway
