Isn't it something that now that xsf knows about it, it has 30 days to enforce jabber trademark or lose it?

  3. moparisthebest

Maybe this'll finally kill jabber once and for all, long live XMPP

  4. Zash

Does the XSF need to enforce that? Is that in the agreement with Cisco?

  5. Ge0rG

Zash: the original agreement requires the XSF to take action to not lose the sublicence.

  6. ralphm

    Peter is on it

  7. Guus

    Persistent buggers...

  8. Guus

Are they using the trademark anywhere except for in the domain name?

  9. jonas’

    the application name itself?

  10. jonas’

oh no, they renamed themselves to SJ for that reason

  11. jonas’

    I recall

  12. Guus

    https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/jdev/2013-April/089420.html

  13. Guus

    yeah

  14. ralphm

We can ask what Peter did exactly back then

  15. Guus

From what I read in the mailing list archives, Peter was happy with them having renamed their product from "SafetyJabber" to "SF", and retaining the domain name. From what I can read back, Peter explicitly restored their listing in our list of clients.

  16. Guus

Has something changed in the mean time? Why is this coming up now?

  17. jonas’

Neustradamus, you brought it up, why?

  18. Guus

From what I read in the mailing list archives, Peter was happy with them having renamed their product from "SafetyJabber" to "SJ", and retaining the domain name. From what I can read back, Peter explicitly restored their listing in our list of clients.

  19. vanitasvitae

    Duplicate message?

  20. Guus

    edit

  21. Guus

    (SF -> SJ)

  22. Guus

if your client does not support the XEP, it'll show as a new message.

  23. Kev

Even if it does, in my case.

  24. Guus

    screenshot?

  26. daniel

Might depend on your definition of last message

  27. Guus

I like how Converse shows it: with a small icon to indicate that the message was added, which opens a popup with the change history

  29. Guus

Hargh, one of these days I'll learn to not press the 'close' icon in a screenshot.

  30. Guus

    every. bloody. time.

  31. genofire

Guus, thanks for remember me to update converse.js ;)

  32. Guus

genofire github now supports a 'watch for releases only' type of thingy.

  33. genofire

i know - i also have to current release -> just want to update to master/HEAD

  34. jonas’

quick poll: I am looking at the LCs which need to be re-emitted due to board/council switchover. There is at least one. I am considering to delay the re-opening until after western New Year’s, because I *assume* that many folks won’t be able to act on the LC anyways.

  35. jonas’

    Opinions?

  36. lovetox

my opinion in this case probably doesnt count much, but seems like a sane idea, just make sure its not forgotten after NY and we find it in 3 months again

  37. jonas’

will put it in my calendar :)

  38. Ge0rG

jonas’: which LC is there? 0280?

  39. jonas’

'381 for board, '363 for Council

  40. jonas’

'280 is ... in an unclear state, too

  41. Ge0rG

    Is 363 fixed now?

  42. jonas’

    not sure

  43. jonas’

not as far as I can tell

  44. jonas’

there was something added about CORS, but it’s unrelated

  45. Ge0rG

    So it's still rejected?

  46. jonas’

    AFAICT, yes

  47. jonas’

you have to tell us that :)

  48. jonas’

    anyways, heading to bed

  49. Ge0rG

I need to read the diff
