  1. moparisthebest

neshtaxmpp, there is no one named mattrude in this channel so no

  2. moparisthebest

neshtaxmpp, what you are looking for is https://github.com/yrutschle/sslh#transparent-proxy-support , in general you should RTFM (manual) not RTFW (wiki)

  3. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: i had speak woth you. my friend use your manual.

  4. Ge0rG

neshtaxmpp: I'm using haproxy with the PROXY protocol to forward traffic to my xmpp service. Maybe it can do the same things as sslh?

  5. neshtaxmpp

Ge0rG: hi. i dont know, my friend dont want to use it comolicated or use proxy, becouse bad configured someone cab use it from internet. for that my friend want to use it basicly simply.

  6. moparisthebest

Ge0rG, haproxy should be able to do the same thing yes, I've just never tried

  7. neshtaxmpp

Ge0rG: my friend was thubking install nginx, and configure apache2. but there ia no decent manual in internet.

  8. moparisthebest

neshtaxmpp, yea if I recall that was the friend that "needed it to work exactly like X" but "could not bother reading the manual"

  9. moparisthebest

did you check the exact link I gave you?

  10. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: im readikg it in the moment, and send it to my friend.

  11. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: so my friend need to compile ?

  12. moparisthebest

how would I know? probably not, but he should know

  13. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: my friend use debian sslh, it is the latest version 1.18... can he use it or has to compile.

  14. moparisthebest

    what does the MANUAL say

  15. neshtaxmpp

    moparisthebest: wait

  16. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: i find Transparent proxy support. is this that my friend need.

  17. moparisthebest

‎[10:14:43 PM] ‎moparisthebest‎: neshtaxmpp, what you are looking for is https://github.com/yrutschle/sslh#transparent-proxy-support

  18. moparisthebest

well that's exactly what I said 3 hours ago so

  19. Ge0rG

moparisthebest: you can't expect anybody to keep this in mind for 3hr ;)

  20. moparisthebest

especially with all this traffic in here

  21. neshtaxmpp

Ge0rG: just in case do yoy have haproxy manual

  22. Ge0rG

neshtaxmpp: yes. Please tell me your postal address and give me 4$ so I can ship it to you.

  23. neshtaxmpp

Ge0rG: are you the developer or haproxy ?

  24. Ge0rG

neshtaxmpp: depends on how much you are willing to pay :P

  25. neshtaxmpp

    Ge0rG: :P

  26. jonas’

    pep., unicode deals with bidi

  27. jonas’

the xmpp-internal strings such as JID parts use stringprep, which also has bidi considarations

  28. jonas’

    so XMPP is pretty bidi-ready

  29. jonas’

even poezio in konsole handles bidi correctly

  30. jonas’

    which is crazy

  31. pep.

"st" didn't apparently. Good to know it's not poezio again

  32. MattJ

st doesn't handle anything, does it? :)

  33. pep.

MattJ, I can see you talking!

  34. Ge0rG

    Is that a GDPR violation?

  35. pep.

Just when GDPR was mentioned in another room. Ge0rG are you stalking me

  36. Ge0rG

pep.: I can neither confirm nor deny that.

  37. oli

can you please send all my personenbezogenen daten to me

  38. Ge0rG

oli: only if you can prove that you are actually you

  39. oli

    damn

  40. oli

avatars have no rights at all

  41. oli

I wonder about the status of XEP-0371 and XEP-0176.

  42. oli

And I'm looking at the stanzas from gajim/farstream.

  43. oli

    and xep-0234

  44. oli

it seems that farstream offers tcp transport, but uses the xep-0176 namespace. xep-0234 refers to xep-0176: "at the time of writing Jingle ICE-UDP Transport Method (XEP-0176) [8] is being updated to include the ability to negotiate ICE-TCP candidates."

  45. oli

XEP-0371 had the intention to supersede XEP-0176, but is Deferred

  46. Link Mauve

oli, please send an email to standards@, the author of XEP-0371 should certainly comment on whether the XEP should process forward or if there are still things to fix before it can be considered for a Last Call.

  47. MattJ

For people who like data and have an interest in XEPs: https://matthewwild.co.uk/uploads/xepql/

  48. Zash

MattJ: Seems to be broken by CSP?

  49. MattJ

There is CSP on my site?

  50. MattJ

    wfm

  51. Zash

Hm, NoScript didn't wanna let it work

  52. MattJ

Yeah, it requires lots of... stuff

  53. Ge0rG

I'd like to gather some stats about the number of XEPs released / advanced per year, for the happy 20 years thing

  54. Neustradamus

It is possible to clean inbox part? There are XEPs in.

  55. MattJ

The tool found a purpose in life already :)

  56. Neustradamus

    Linked to https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/issues/421

  57. oli

Are there any recommendations for which video codecs to use for RTP?

  58. oli

XEP-0299 should be updated or obsoleted

  59. moparisthebest

at this point I'd guess you'd only want to implement webrtc standards

  60. oli

    vp8 and h.264

  61. oli

    what about vp9 and/or av1?

  62. neshtaxmpp

    hi

  63. neshtaxmpp

    moparisthebest: online

  64. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: my friend commemt he can't ubdersrand your wevsitr tgat you comment him. do you have manual how to make nginx + apache2 + sslh

  65. moparisthebest

I only have what I linked you yesterday

  66. moparisthebest

If you have some insane requirements of using 2 http servers etc etc, you are going to have to get good at figuring it out yourself

  67. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: my friend haa rrad how to make nging reverse proxy with apache2, but it is unknown if it gonna work.

  68. neshtaxmpp

moparisthebest: include my friend comment. is much better in static web pages css amd apache is much better in other.

  69. moparisthebest

probably neither of those are true

  70. oli

this is not really xmpp stuff

  76. neshtaxmpp

    oli: you are very negative.

  77. pep.

I don't think this is the right room either

  85. Neustradamus

neshtaxmpp: I think that you have the old mucroom.

  86. neshtaxmpp

Neustradamus: dont worry. if you need help i will try help you. in the moment dont have money. will try help with everything.

  87. vanitasvitae

That guy got kicked from at least one other German Linux MUC for not following advice... Just saying :D

  88. neshtaxmpp

vanitasvitae: so who don't speak german language is kicked. This sound DISCRIMINATIONS.

  89. vanitasvitae

neshtaxmpp: well, first off it was a german muc, where people tried to help you (or your friend). And you were told more than once to join the appropriate room (the ejabberd one).

  90. neshtaxmpp

vanitasvitae: strange... your version is lie. Maybe you dady or mother didnt educate you tell the true. vanitasvitae this room ia for xmpp, you are off topic.

  91. vanitasvitae

Ah okay :D This room is not a tech support room for ejabberd though, so we both are off topic.
