  1. rion

seems like Skype introduced support for XEP-0107

  2. Ge0rG

Link Mauve: I'm eagerly anticipating your votes and more background info on how you implemented MUC-LMC without making the server DoSable! :D

  3. eevvoor

    rion thus skype xmpp interoperability?

  4. Arc

geesus. it seems every time i need to update the server certs it gets worse

  5. moparisthebest

I can't remember the last time I updated a server cert, it's all automatic?

  6. MattJ

    If you're lucky

  7. MattJ

I have a couple of annoying servers that always manage to find some excuse to fail

  8. jonas’

    I do, too

  9. Ge0rG

Like prosody, which needs to be reloaded twice, for no apparent reason?

  10. Arc

yea i had scripts on the old server but they stopped working when i moved to the new server

  11. Arc

but worse, the server fell into a state that i couldn't talk to init anymore so even "reboot" failed, due to upgrading systemd without upgrading the kernel

  12. Arc

I had to remote-hands hard reset the server after installing a new kernel and pray it'd come back up

  13. moparisthebest

Ge0rG, hmm does it need reloaded twice? years ago when I automated it all it ended up in odd states and I threw up my hands and just fully restart it for cert changes...

  14. Ge0rG

    moparisthebest: yes.

  15. moparisthebest

still haven't revisited it, it only annoys me once every 2 months :)

  16. Ge0rG

    moparisthebest: https://issues.prosody.im/1346

  17. moparisthebest

iirc it got in a state where existing c2s connections worked but new ones would fail or some mess

  18. yvo

test, I have no messages since 12:34, was there sth?

  19. eevvoor

    yes, see also the logs

  20. eevvoor

  25. Ge0rG

Oh, doesn't it do Self-Ping yet?

  26. yvo

is MAM in here Ge0rG ?

  27. yvo

is MAM on here Ge0rG ?

  28. Ge0rG

no, but the MUC advertises a public log on https://muc.xmpp.org:5281/muc_log/xsf/ which doesn't seem to work. MattJ?

  29. Zash

    It does what

  30. yvo

    The log does work Ge0rG

  31. Ge0rG

    Zash: what what?

  32. Ge0rG

Zash: what part of what I said didn't you understand?

  33. Ge0rG

I don't get any response on TCP muc.xmpp.org:5281 so it doesn't work for me.

  34. yvo

http://logs.xmpp.org/xsf/ works Ge0rG, look into the MUC descr

  35. Ge0rG

yvo: this is not the log you are looking for. *hand gesture*

  36. yvo

    why not?

  37. Ge0rG

Zash: I was speaking of muc#roominfo_logs in disco#info btw

  38. Zash

Ge0rG: It should have MAM enabled and I don't remember it advertising that

  39. eevvoor

    your echoed on http://logs.xmpp.org/xsf/2019-05-01 Ge0rG :D

  40. Zash

If the advertised URL is weird it's because the setup here is weird

  41. yvo

I didn't receive the MAM today Zash.

  42. Zash

    That's not how it works?

  43. Ge0rG

Zash: I haven't seen MAM in disco#info, should it be there? Was I not properly looking?

  44. Zash

    <iq id="lx7" type="result" from="xsf@muc.xmpp.org"> <query xmlns="http://jabber.org/protocol/disco#info" node=""> <identity type="text" name="XSF Discussion" category="conference"/> ... <feature var="urn:xmpp:mam:2"/>

  46. yvo

MAM in Version 2, hm ... , looks nice

  47. yvo

  48. yvo
