  1. pep.

lovetox_, you answered to me again :p

  2. lovetox_

    damn it

  3. lovetox_

    yeah but standards is cc

  4. lovetox_

    so does this work?

  5. pep.

    yeah it does

  6. pep.

    I hadn't noticed the CC

  7. pep.

Just noticed that you ended up in the wrong folder

  8. lovetox_

thunderbird has a nice Answer to List option

  9. lovetox_

    gmail hasnt sadly

  10. pep.

    Also top posting :(

  11. Ge0rG

I've recently searched for something xmpp related and ddg displayed https://svn.xmpp.org/feeds/all.atom.xml as a hit. The hostname exists, the certificate is wrong, but the atom feed looks like from our blog. Maybe iteam should kill the svn hostname? Cc MattJ Kev

  12. jonas’

yeah, it probably simply aliases to xmpp.org on the web server side of things

  13. Link Mauve

“12:22:07 flow> which we may should rename to something like <description-text/>”, I’ll add that to my long-overdue JingleFT list of things to fix.

  14. pep.

    jonas’, "<xs:attribute name='max_items' type='xs:positiveInteger' use='optional'/>" :(

  15. Daniel

if examples are not normative i don’t see max_items mentioned anywhere in the XEP

  16. Daniel

so i don’t even know where to add the clarified definition of max_items

  17. pep.

jonas’, hmm, maybe it's not for that max_items, sorry

  18. pep.

"pubsub#purge_offline: Whether to purge all items when the relevant publisher goes offline", what does this mean? What's the use-case for this

  19. jonas’

    who knows

  20. Zash

I'm sure it's useful for something.

  21. Zash

Like removing the future status-in-PEP when you go offline?

  22. Zash

    Or mood/activity

  23. pep.

Ô pubsub globs, (edhelas, goffi), have you not run into the max_items issue before? (I'm sure you have)

  24. pep.

    Zash, oh

  25. Daniel

am I seeing that correctly that the only place to specify max_items behaviour is in the label of the data form in 16.4.4?

  26. pep.

yeah, instead of poezio issuing a (3) retract(s) when going offline

  27. lovetox_

Daniel if you add a paragraph do it also for pubsub#item_expire

  28. Daniel

    lovetox_, what do you mean?

  29. lovetox_

    its the same deal

  30. lovetox_

a field you have to set to a positive integer, and there is no "whatever the servers max is" option

  31. Daniel

    ok

  32. Daniel

i wasn’t going to add a paragraph. but yeah I can clarify that as well :-)

  33. lovetox_

    also pubsub#children_max

  34. lovetox_

    Daniel, you modifed pubsub#children

  35. lovetox_

    instead of pubsub#children_max

  36. lovetox_

i dont know what children exactly holds, but its not a number

  37. Zash

Isn't that about the pubsub tree structure thing with nodes and leafs?

  38. Daniel

    lovetox_, fixing

  39. Daniel

    fixed

  40. flow

Link Mauve, +1, is the list public somewhere? Maybe even in the wiki?

  41. MattJ

    B 🙁

  42. Zash

    🅱

  43. goffi

pep., which max_items issue? Sorry I have little time to read logs

  44. pep.

    https://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2019-October/036502.html

  45. pep.

Just read the first mail. I'm sure you're also hitting similar issues for normal microblog/pubsub

  46. jonas’

Daniel, as I said in my mail, I think the max_items thing deserves a feature

  47. jonas’

no wait, I got confused between PRs

  48. jonas’

servers which don’t support that will probably simply fail

  49. lovetox_

yes jonas’ servers should not accept values they can nothing do with

  50. pep.

https://www.ccc.de/en/updates/2019/36c3-in-leipzig if anybody wants to talk at CCC

  51. emus

That would be great. It can also be made from several once to reflect different "sections" of xmpp. And we might get contact to the jabber.ccc.de guys to overwork their servers? 😀
