vanitasvitaeHi! I noticed, there is no official XMPP/XSF Account on mastodon / any ActivityPub based social network. Are there any plans to create one? As I understand there are twitter clients that can be used to publish to Twitter and mastodon at the same time. Also I think as both XMPP and ActivityPub are federated networks, being present on Mastodon would be quite fitting. Note that matrix does have a Mastodon account as well, which is great to get in touch with the community.
MattJDo they run their own instance? or what?
SouLvanitasvitae, I think it is a good point, thank you for your suggestion. But I also wonder about the instance and such

SouLWe will try to take a look at what Matrix does as well
MattJMaybe we should wait for the Prosody ActivityPub bridge and use that :)

vanitasvitaeMatrix is running their own instance
vanitasvitaeI imagine it would be especially cool to communicate new XEP proposals to users and devs that way
vanitasvitaefyi this is the matrix mastodon account 🙂 https://mastodon.matrix.org/@matrix
jcI'd be interested in running an xmpp instance
jcPartly also for selfish reasons, I want a mastodon instance to test Converse integration with
jcTogether with MattJ's cookie auth
MattJMaybe we could set up mastodon.xmpp.net
SouLWow
SouLthat would be awesome

Why not use the protocol at hand?
pep. It's not like pubsub wasn't already a thing.
pep.I don't disagree with having a mastodon account/instance but I would limit the usage

Bridge all the things!!!
MattJI hang out in Matrix rooms, using an XMPP bridge to connect to an IRC channel which they have bridged to their room on matrix.org
vanitasvitaeI mean somehow bridge pubsub and activepub :)
