Hi! I noticed, there is no official XMPP/XSF Account on mastodon / any ActivityPub based social network. Are there any plans to create one? As I understand there are twitter clients that can be used to publish to Twitter and mastodon at the same time. Also I think as both XMPP and ActivityPub are federated networks, being present on Mastodon would be quite fitting. Note that matrix does have a Mastodon account as well, which is great to get in touch with the community.

Do they run their own instance? or what?

vanitasvitae, I think it is a good point, thank you for your suggestion. But I also wonder about the instance and such

We will try to take a look at what Matrix does as well

Maybe we should wait for the Prosody ActivityPub bridge and use that :)

Matrix is running their own instance

I imagine it would be especially cool to communicate new XEP proposals to users and devs that way

fyi this is the matrix mastodon account 🙂 https://mastodon.matrix.org/@matrix

I'd be interested in running an xmpp instance

Partly also for selfish reasons, I want a mastodon instance to test Converse integration with

Together with MattJ's cookie auth

MattJ
Maybe we could set up mastodon.xmpp.net

Wow

that would be awesome

> I imagine it would be especially cool to communicate new XEP proposals to users and devs that way Why not use the protocol at hand?

It's not like pubsub wasn't already a thing.

I don't disagree with having a mastodon account/instance but I would limit the usage

I hang out in Matrix rooms, using an XMPP bridge to connect to an IRC channel which they have bridged to their room on matrix.org

I mean somehow bridge pubsub and activepub :)
