How are traslations hadled? Or do I need to wait for the email like everyone else and then do it....now sure how that is uselful...eg. Jan 2020 one will link my translated Dec 2019?

  18. N每co

creating a place where people can donate to a free/opensource project is only the very first step... after that, you need to promote it... like promote it really I mean it is a duty by the leaders of the project being exposed in only one XSF newsletter will certainly help, but only a bit most of the promotion work is a day to day task, to be achieved by the project itself

  19. N每co

on the "Calls" section of the newsletter, if you have doubts, I guess it would nice to come up with very clear and simple rules what do you think?

  20. N每co

like this one: * one "call" per project

  21. N每co

another example could be: * call for a specific thing, and focus (example: donations, UX revision, translation, etc.)

  22. Martin

per project per month, three month period, half year or year?

  23. Martin

BTW, on places on xmpp.org where projects are named and linked could be a link to the donations page as well. E.g [client](https://client.im) ([donate](https://client/im/donate))

Martin: because projects can have a webpage but can't add the Donate button by their own?

  27. Licaon_Kter

    *on their own pago

  28. Martin

    Quick access 馃槂

  30. Licaon_Kter

Martin: I'll just donate to this link without opening the project page, sounds good

  31. LNJ has joined

  32. Martin

As shown in the example I suggest to link on the projects donation page where all donation possibilities would be listed. Most projects have this.

  33. Martin

I won't link to PayPal or whatever directly.

I try to translate the German version asap. you just can use RSS feed of jabber.de. for the moment the same goes for the spanish version. however it takes much longer to review

  44. emus

I personally dont thing that is a big problem for now

  45. emus

Licaon_Kter: You can always link where it will appear

    > emus: I don't have a space....it that a MUST? I'll see about one I guess > My issue was more on the timing part... I dont 100% understand your problem actually

  53. Licaon_Kter

The translation won't be hosted by xmpp itself right? So i need to setup a page on my domain and the newsletter will link to it?

  54. emus

Ah, thats what you mean. yes basically

  55. emus

See the recent post somewhere at the top

  56. emus

we also, at least me, drop it to the xmpp wiki

  57. emus

as a central place to document

  58. emus

I personally try to host it on local official sites about xmpp. but e.g jabberes.org is not reliable atm (as they told me)

  59. N每co

    > The translation won't be hosted by xmpp itself right? So i need to setup a page on my domain and the newsletter will link to it? wait... anyone CAN use the XMPP wiki to do the newsletter translations do we agree?

  60. emus

I dunno. at least someone of us should put the translations there

  61. vanitasvitae

Btw, why arent translations hosted by xmpp.org? Lack of resources?

  62. vanitasvitae

Or to embrace the nature of decentricity? :D

  63. N每co

our wiki can definitely host translation process, but our website is English-only

XMPP has 356 Followers on fosstodon, it seems the growth has slowed down if we do the ratio: Twitter has 300M+ users, our XMPP account has 1.6k followers Fediverse has 3M+ users, our XMPP account has 350+ followers

The duration of their existence is probably also very different.

  74. emus

    > The duration of their existence is probably also very different. I try to look for persistent publishers. jabber.de has quite some credit in that

  75. emus

My suggestion would be though: Ifbthere are more translations, and tha on a continuous basis, the XSF should host them in the blog

  76. Licaon_Kter

Eg Can a page be made and linked on the letter: Translations available here...

  77. emus

    > Eg Can a page be made and linked on the letter: Translations available here... There is a sentence under Articles about that
