peetah: Would you be okay with wurstsalat suggestion?

  2. peetah

to me, it seems strange to have a client release announced just before the "clients" section

  3. peetah

or we should differentiate releases and dev news in 2 different sections

  4. wurstsalat

peetah, yes you are right, I checked older issues of the newsletter, and there has been a Software releases section with clients and servers. The may issue https://xmpp.org/2020/05/newsletter/ did that differently and somehow that got stuck :)

  5. emus

yes guys, I maye deleted the structure accidentially. if you make a pr I can merge it as you suggested

  6. peetah

wurstsalat: I don't see what you're talking about

  7. peetah

older newsletter also had a "software release" section, but no "dev news" section

  8. peetah

older newsletters also had a "software releases" section, but no "dev news" section

  9. wurstsalat

peetah: in the issue I linked, there is a software releases section containing actual releases, and a clients and applications section featuring dev news

  10. peetah

and I remember asking this very same question for the newsletter you link :)

  11. peetah

it does not make sense to have "software releases" subsections filled with development reports, and pack all actual software releases at the top of this section

  12. wurstsalat

peetah, I agree with you. I just linked that issue to show you why I was confused :)

  13. peetah

let's create a new section named something like "What's new with dev teams" , divided in the same subsections as software releases, where all the dev reports will go

  14. peetah

    would that be ok ?

  15. peetah

and the "software releases" section will be reserved for actual releases

  16. wurstsalat

    peetah, sounds good to me!
