  3. emus

unfortunately the flags dont work πŸ˜•

  4. peetah

must be a github markdown flavor specificity ... maybe direct unicode could be an alternative

  5. emus

oki, we will try next time

  6. peetah

Did you get any anwser from wolfie_anmol ?

  7. emus

Not yet, I wrote him/her (?!) saying we assume that it is okay, otherwise lets arrange. thats what Zash suggested: <a hreflang="es"> ?

  8. emus

But if there is someone figureing out how to do that properly for the next release that would be great

  9. peetah

    ok

  10. emus

Reminder: put Zash and jonas to Contributors aswell. They also did some extra help for the last releases

  17. pep.

I guess it's too far from "neutrality" for the XSF :x

  18. pep.

even though I'd like to have it in there as well

  19. emus

Licaon_Kter, pep.: You want to drop this in the newsletter?

  20. Licaon_Kter

    As time permits

  21. Licaon_Kter

There's like 2 lines mentioning XMPP

  22. emus

Ok. just asking was the intention was

  23. peetah

GSoC bullet points are not rendered correctly

  24. emus

    Yes

  25. peetah

emus: in the french translation I used the unicode flags (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_Indicator_Symbol) and it seems to work fine

  26. emus

    pkay, good point

  27. emus

    okay, good point

  28. pep.

peetah, hmm, as suggested in iteam@, dunno if it's actually a good idea to use flags tbh

  29. peetah

    why is that ?

  30. pep.

Because a flag doesn't map to a language

  31. peetah

    ah yes I remember now

  32. pep.

Β« flags are about countries and not languages Β»

  33. emus

pep.: yeah, but I would be so picky. Basically I think its okay

  34. pep.

I'll let you deal with politics around that then :x

  35. pep.

I think it's a lot better to just state the language rather than the country

  36. peetah

emus: it is also a matter of accessibility, so despite being the one who asked for it, I think it is best to stick to "[language]"

  37. emus

Yeah, I take the responsiblity on that πŸ™‚

  38. emus

Yeah, I'll take the responsiblity on that πŸ™‚

  39. peetah

pep. , NΓΏco , and whoever I did not flag as french native or french fluent people, thanks to review the french translation when you have time

  40. pep.

peetah, I'll have a look yeah
