emus: in the french translation I used the unicode flags (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_Indicator_Symbol) and it seems to work fine

I think it's a lot better to just state the language rather than the country

emus: it is also a matter of accessibility, so despite being the one who asked for it, I think it is best to stick to "[language]"
