  1. emus

Good morning! Who of you guys have made a PR to the newsletter without being member of XSF? I am asking because there seem to be a limitation somehow 🤔

  2. Martin

    I did several times.

  3. wurstsalat

    emus: limitation how?

  4. emus

wurstsalat: In the manner, that one cannot comment or directly edit the draft file Martin: Did you do as I described the steps in the top comment?

  5. Martin

    Top comment?

  6. Martin

I just made a PR against your PR.

  7. emus

    okay, weird

  8. emus

But can one do this by jist editing the file? Martin: The very first comment in the threa

  9. emus

Martin: did you fork the branch?

  10. emus

A solution seem to be to select the branch first in the top

  11. wurstsalat

emus: yeah, direct editing does not work for me. Doing like you just described works though (ugly workaround)

  12. emus

    I dont get it...

  13. emus

you have to PR anyway, why is it not permitted

  14. emus

I think I improved the description a lot and just made it more visible

  15. emus

Ahh noo... that means commits wil be done always to the raw template... damn... any siggestions

  16. emus

    ?

  17. emus

I think I need to do a step by step guide

  18. Martin

    > Martin: did you fork the branch? When you edit the file github automatically forks and creates a PR if you don't have the edit rights. At least it used to.

  19. emus

Yes, sorry I was asking if you manually did it

  20. emus

Is there any "secure" guide to enable it for anyone?

  21. emus

Ahh no, it is fine, it links to the latest status always

  22. emus

okay thats great, took a while to do it properly, but I guess thats it now!
