  1. Licaon_Kter

emus: is it out already? :)

  2. emus

fuck...🤦‍♂️ I just thought about it at 7pm yesterday

  3. wurstsalat

emus: sure, people can drop them here as well But we could point anyone dropping links/summaries to that pad. If some don't, we can quickly add that content ourselves. This way, we would have a single doc for everyone to check if these news are known already (without scrolling through a month of backlog).

  4. emus

wurstsalat: The point is, the we go back to people likely only dropping links as in the wiki. I prefer they write at least a bit

  5. wurstsalat

emus: I see a pad as 'github PR without hurdles'. What's different when comparing a pad and this chat, in regard to link-dropping?

  6. emus

You are right, but here is less anonymous and I can ask people directly to may write sonething up 😀

  7. wurstsalat

Sure. I guess what I want most is a place to gather news, which is easy to access for everyone. At the moment I try to remember/create bookmarks/keep mails/pr as soon as I find the time. A pad would help organise these notes

  8. emus

Hmm, Im sceptical, because that needs a lot more work from my side

  9. wurstsalat

Would it? I'd edit those pad entries every now and then during the month :)

  10. emus

Hmm, I think so. Also, then I do the commits, I prefer to see that others did - not for work, but for participation reasons. I think I will do the 2020 recap mid of december and then "we all" can discuss if you want

  11. kikuchiyo

How many have subscribed to the XMPP newsletter?

  12. Licaon_Kter

    kikuchiyo: 450 iirc

  13. emus

  28. MattJ

Licaon_Kter, I'm MattJ on Twitter. You won't believe how many times I get people wanting to have (sometimes buy) the username from me...

  29. emus

    😋️ how much?!

  30. emus

The email newsletter has 654 subcribers

  31. MattJ

    Wow, nice :)

  32. MattJ

I should go back and get stats on what I've been offered... obviously nothing large enough for me to actually give it up :)

  33. emus

sorry Mattj, i miss typed, it "just" 465

  34. MattJ

    :D

  35. MattJ

Still, that's not an insignificant number

  36. emus

Yes, but I think there is some spam in it (who the f*ck subrcibe a robot or spam?)

  37. Martin

    > Yes, but I think there is some spam in it (who the f*ck subrcibe a robot or spam?) What?

  38. emus

lets say there are some very weird email like 2020@somedomain.xyz

  39. wurstsalat

Who knows, maybe someone using throw-away addresses per-subscription, which get collected by the real mail account (or something of the like)

  40. emus

That's what I also wondered sometimes
