Siskin 6.2 was released, A/V fixes and finally group OMEMO ٩(◕‿◕。)۶

  2. wurstsalat

  3. Paganini

    > wurstsalat, Paganini: I'm working on a XMPP file sharing component that has no limit, the idea is to implement per user quota instead of per-file limit. That would be extraordinary!!!

    > Was this guide posted? > [DE] https://www.heise.de/tipps-tricks/XMPP-was-ist-das-5006209.html Is there an english translation?

  5. wurstsalat

Licaon_Kter, where do you see that? github says 6.1 is their latest release

  6. wurstsalat

    ah, I see a tag.

  7. Licaon_Kter

  8. Licaon_Kter

  12. purplebeetroot

xmpp.org is from a user perspective a very poor entry point.

  13. Licaon_Kter

purplebeetroot: xmpp is not only shiny chat clients

  14. purplebeetroot

    I know.

  15. wurstsalat

purplebeetroot, it’s not meant to be an entry point for users. https://joinjabber.org/ is

  16. purplebeetroot

But xmpp.org is also something many potential new user who search for xmpp will find at first.

  17. purplebeetroot

Having it directed to both, dev/admins and enduser would be nice. A short note at the landingpage to joinjabber.org would be a quickly solved task.

  19. wurstsalat

    I’d be interested in who’s maintaining joinjabber.org

  20. Link Mauve

    wurstsalat, people over at xmpp:joinxmpp@chat.cluxia.eu?join

  21. wurstsalat

    thanks Link Mauve

  22. emus

purplebeetroot: XMPP is also a lot of voluntary work. Please consider this. We all know the weak spots of XMPP incl. media representation

  23. purplebeetroot

emus: So you neither want nor need feedback?

  24. purplebeetroot

Consider this, looking at project as an enduser tryn to find spots that *could* bring some great benefit, without costing much resources is also a voluntary work. If it is sensless to do so, I obviously gonna stop.

  25. emus

purplebeetroot: Yes, we need feedback of course. I just wanted to point out that you cannot expect very much people will do it directly. We also have Github, where we can organise feedback more, too.

  26. purplebeetroot

Ok. Then feedback to your message: It is obviously to me thaf xmpp is a FLOSS project on a voluntary basis. I wouldn't be here if that wouldn't be the case. I'm thankfull for all xmpp has accomblished. Thank you for supporting xmpp. I don't expect anything I say to be implemented (not just for the reason limited resources, but also some suggestion might be not a good idea. .

  27. purplebeetroot

About github. Sorry, I don't use github and will not support it with ny labor in any way. If a project is there, I don't fill in an issue. If they are on some opensource alternative, I do so from time to time

  28. emus

purplebeetroot: Is fine, just saying what you can currently expect. Of course we would like to ship a whole CommTeam with all the suggestion you made

  29. purplebeetroot

emus: I'll hope to be able to invest more time to support xmpp in future. It's likly I'll do.

  30. emus

purplebeetroot: Alright, just let us know. As said, preparating or distributing XMPP newsletter is also a simple and good start
