Don't know whether it's relevant enough for the newsletter, but as the bad state of the old perl sendxmpp and the various alternatives are a recurring topic in the XMPP community I started compiling a list of the alternatives: https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/User:MDosch/Sendxmpp_incarnations

Sam: Didn't you also include some sendxmpp functionality in, or based on, mellium? Not sure whether you did or intend to do but I recall you were talking about it. :)

One of the examples is sendxmpp like, I don't know if it's worth including or not

I added it. It appears to be about as useful as most of the others on the list an had a few features others didn't mention, so might as well.
