neoxHello there, here is the french translation of the newsletter : https://news.jabberfr.org/2021/06/lettre-dinformation-xmpp-de-mai-2021 & https://linuxfr.org/news/lettre-d-information-xmpp-de-mai-2021-8c2e986d-e880-4f5b-9a9c-73246142eab5 (next time I'll pay attention to the permalink, the linuxfr one seems a bit long)
MartinYeah that 'uid' makes the URL a bit uncool. 😂
MartinWhat site generator does this?
emus (XSF Com. Team)neox: Thank you very much guys!
Sam wrote a tool for easy xmpp onboarding using mastodon servers
Samo/ it's really just an example to try and facilitate discussion on the mailing list thread (and because someone posted a similar tool for Matrix a few days ago). Nothing actually supports this protoxep yet.
Licaon_KterNo Readme, what does it do? Sam
emus (XSF Com. Team)coule be interesting to combine with xmpp providers
SamLicaon_Kter: the user can self-provision an XMPP account by authenticating with an existing mastodon account. This authorizes them to use IBR on the XMPP server. There is no requirement for the XMPP server and the web service that generates the invite to be able to communicate.
SamThe idea being that a mastodon community can have an associated chat server and users can self-provision accounts without asking an admin (and without the admin having to tie the XMPP server and the mastodon instance to the same backend or something)
SamI mean, the idea is to just be an example of one area where the new protoxep is useful, this probably isn't something you'd want to actually use.
