  73. neox Hello there, here is the french translation of the newsletter : https://news.jabberfr.org/2021/06/lettre-dinformation-xmpp-de-mai-2021 & https://linuxfr.org/news/lettre-d-information-xmpp-de-mai-2021-8c2e986d-e880-4f5b-9a9c-73246142eab5 (next time I'll pay attention to the permalink, the linuxfr one seems a bit long)
  74. Martin 👍🏼
  75. Martin Yeah that 'uid' makes the URL a bit uncool. 😂

  89. vanitasvitae https://github.com/mellium/fediverse-xmpp-onboarding Sam wrote a tool for easy xmpp onboarding using mastodon servers
  90. Sam o/ it's really just an example to try and facilitate discussion on the mailing list thread (and because someone posted a similar tool for Matrix a few days ago). Nothing actually supports this protoxep yet.
  91. Licaon_Kter No Readme, what does it do? Sam
  92. emus (XSF Com. Team) coule be interesting to combine with xmpp providers
  93. Sam Licaon_Kter: the user can self-provision an XMPP account by authenticating with an existing mastodon account. This authorizes them to use IBR on the XMPP server. There is no requirement for the XMPP server and the web service that generates the invite to be able to communicate.
  94. Sam The idea being that a mastodon community can have an associated chat server and users can self-provision accounts without asking an admin (and without the admin having to tie the XMPP server and the mastodon instance to the same backend or something)
  95. Sam I mean, the idea is to just be an example of one area where the new protoxep is useful, this probably isn't something you'd want to actually use.

  100. Licaon_Kter This is the 401+379 ?
  101. Licaon_Kter This is the 401+379 invite workflow?
  102. Sam Yes, using the new protoxep that allows generating invites with a shared secret (instead of having to have an admin account on the server): https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1068
  103. Sam Discussion is happening in jdev@ if you're interested.
  104. Licaon_Kter Thanks, but well over my head :)
