  1. Nav

Hi, I've just added a section to the newsletter pad (https://yopad.eu/p/xmpp-newsletter-365days) to announce some changes made to the XMPP webhooks component (https://gitlab.com/navlost.eu/xmpp/components/webhooks) in the last few months.

  2. Nav

I put this under a new "Components" section in consideration of https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/issues/834 ("There is no information about XMPP transports"). It does not address the issue directly but hopefully it will make it easier in the future to gather up information on transports and other components being actively developed.

  3. Nav

Kind of off-topic, but I'm working on an important feature (https://gitlab.com/navlost.eu/xmpp/components/webhooks/-/issues/19) and I hope to make another announcement next month, if I can keep up the development pace. Do feel free to provide feedback on that in the GitLab issue (for now, a GitLab account or OAUTH2 login is required, once that feature is implemented you should be able to comment on GitLab issues directly via XMPP).

  4. emus

Nav: Could you move this to Libraries?

  5. Nav

emus: Yes I can, though a component is not actually a library but an application of its own. Also, what about https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/issues/834 ?

  6. emus

Nav: then put it to clients but lets nit have another section atm

  7. emus

    No aait

  8. emus

    aait

  9. emus

    wait 🫣

  10. emus

lets keep it to library, because it is actually Library & Tools

  11. emus

    That should be changed

  12. Nav

    emus: Better now? https://yopad.eu/p/xmpp-newsletter-365days

  13. Nav

(though I'd really like to see components being showcased better, since they're kind of a unique selling point)

  14. emus

Nav: ok now I see the entire paragraphs from you. We ask authors to limit themselves to about 5 lines. everything else can be linked to blogposts or similar. other then that the section is fine

  15. Nav

emus: Yeah that was a bit long winded. How about now?

  16. emus

Nav: ok lets leave it like this for the moment

  17. Nav

    👍

  18. Sam

Does anyone here have permissions to create repos in the XSF GitHub organization? I'm moving most of my stuff somewhere else and was thinking it would make sense to move the office hours form over to the XSF repo instead of keeping it with my stuff (not that it matters really, it's just a tiny bit of HTML and a stylesheet)

  19. Sam

oh wait, nevermind, apparently I can do it because I got added back to the editor group. oops.

  20. Schimon

Did you hear of Umbrel or yunohost Linux distros?

  21. Schimon

Did anyone look whether Umbrel has bundled eJabberd or Prosody? https://umbrel.com/

  22. emus

Sam: possibly have a chat with wurstsalat on this too
