    > vril: Wikis have a slightly simpler editing process, but if using Markdown, AsciiDoc, OrgMode would not be problematic, would be happy to migrate to a static site. Perhaps examine : > - https://docusaurus.io/ > - https://fedoramagazine.org/using-antora-for-your-open-source-documentation/ > > There are many choices, but probably the most important feature is an edit this page button that will take you to where you can edit content. Such content would be on a subdomain e.g. users.xmpp.org and would be in a separate repository than xmpp.org to enable easier permissions management. Of course updating wiki software may also be possible. Thank you Benson. In a static site of that type, a user with authorization for modifying a page, can he/she also create new pages in a simple way as in wikis? I’m not an expert, but if you tell me that the two options can have a pretty similar and easy way to work, it’s ok for me.. Perhaps the only thing is that when a person sees a wiki, they already know that they will probably be able to contribute to the project. And so it happened to me with wiki.xmpp.org ...

Example static sites with buttons/links to edit: - https://swcarpentry.github.io/git-novice/ - https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/docs/ A CMS system for static sites is https://decapcms.org/ which maybe helpful if one does not want people to know something about git, though can also write a short tutorial.

  3. gnemmi

    Hello everyone!

  4. gnemmi

singpolyma, I just added Fossy 2025 call for proposals to the pad. Would this ok?

  5. gnemmi

    - [XMPP Track at FOSSY](https://2025.fossy.us/pages/tracks/): Call for [proposals](https://2025.fossy.us/call-for-proposals/) is open until May 5th 2025!

  6. gnemmi

    Under ## XMPP Events

  7. singpolyma

    gnemmi: seems great thanks

  8. gnemmi

    You are very welcome! πŸ€—

  9. singpolyma

You could add something about travel support available from the sopranica project in request or something like that

  10. gnemmi

Sure! Got a link or something where I can get info about it?

  11. singpolyma

That's all the info there is, heh. I just keep telling people if money is why they won't give a talk I can fix that for them if they talk to me

  12. singpolyma

So link to my jid or our chatroom or something

  13. gnemmi

Oh .. ok. Let me think and I'll see what I can come up with πŸ˜‰

  14. gnemmi

    singpolyma, what do you think?

  15. gnemmi

Once again this year, [soprani.ca](https://soprani.ca/) is pleased to announce its annual offer for funding to the potential attendees who may be struggling with financial limitations, especially if they could be convinced to give an XMPP related talk. Please, join us at [discuss@conference.soprani.ca](xmpp:discuss@conference.soprani.ca?join), and don't hesitate to ask for more information!

  16. gnemmi

    s/give/host/ s/talk/presentation7/ ?

  18. gnemmi

"especially to those that would like to give an XMPP related talk" .. that sounds better than "be convinced" to me .. πŸ˜•

  19. gnemmi

    I finally went with:

  23. Menel

Is this something official? Got a strange message.. https://slrpnk.net/post/19686925

  24. Menel

Ah, it seems it is a link on pressing it. But in the activity pub message it is literally only the text.. Didn't know what to do with it on my instace..

  25. Kris

No unofficial. I run both the lemmy instance and that rss feed bot

  26. Menel

If it would include the link in the text, it would be more helpful in the fediverse I think.

  27. Kris

    You mean mastodon?

  28. Kris

I think this is a mastodon issue. It works fine on Lemmy.

  29. Menel

Hm. Very strange. Or something of my client I used to view it.

  32. Menel

Seems it shows in snac but not in my client fedilab... So never mind... πŸ˜€

  33. Menel

On the other hand. That link visible in snac only links to the website snd from there one still has to press on it to see the actual content.. A bit roundabout.

  35. gnemmi

Hey!. That snac web interface is all in German! How *cool* is that!! I wonder who did such an awesome translation work?. πŸ€” I'm sure that whoever did that is a great guy!!
