Ok. Plase take into consideration that it is 06:48 in the morning over here, and I still haven had any sleep, so, my clarity of mind is not in its prime time right now ... so Im going to leave this here for you to review when you have time.

  6. gnemmi

Having said that. I have read the links you shared and managed to come up with the following text, that tries to summarize the information from your crowfunding campaing to the best of my understanding (at the moment):

  7. gnemmi

[Monocles](https://monocles.eu/more/), the ethical alternative to the digital services of big tech companies, started a [crowdfunding campaign](https://www.startnext.com/en/monocles). The main goal is to create a platform where privacy, digital sovereignty and sustainability take center stage for everyone who wants to shape their digital world independently, securely and fairly. Your privacy is non-negotiable. Please feel free to review the reasons why you would support our endeavor and consider what's in it for you as a supporter. The funding period will span from 03.28.2025 to 06.30.2025.

  8. gnemmi

Please let me know what do you think. And don't take this as a final text .. its just basis to build upon, so feel free to let me know about any correction and/or misunderstanding I might incurred.

  9. gnemmi

I would still have to see under which ##Title this should go under though ..

  10. arne

Awesome gnemmi . Take your time. 06:48 is very early!

  11. gnemmi

Indeed .. and I seriously need some sleep 🫠

  12. gnemmi

Please confirm the text is up to your needs and feel free to make all the modifications you may deem necessary

I found a surprisingly good article on our Open Letter. @emus can you post the following verbatim (not adding any other stuff)? You may link https://mastodon.social/@winbuzzer in the Fediverse. There's also an X post here: https://x.com/WBuzzer/status/1907471784666104090. > Great article by Markus Kasanmascheff on our Open Letter to Meta regarding interoperability and the EU DMA, over at WinBuzzer: https://winbuzzer.com/2025/04/02/xmpp-pressures-meta-to-allow-interoperability-under-eu-rules-xcxwbn/ #DMA #interoperability

Posted over at LinkedIn, and asked Eddie

There in an error in the article. Meta must comply with the interoperability obligation since 7 March 2024 for WhatsApp and since 6 September 2024 for Messenger. _2024 not 2025_.

  23. Mari0

    https://www.berec.europa.eu/en/all-documents/berec/opinions/berec-opinion-on-metas-reference-offers-to-facilitate-messenger-and-whatsapp-interoperability-under-article-7-of-the-digital-markets-act

  24. ralphm

Well, yes. I suggest contacting the author. But 2024 is only for one-on-one. For groupchat it is 2026 and for voice/video calls 2028.

  25. ralphm

And Mari0, regarding that BEREC opinion, I'm looking forward to to Meta visiting everybody's home for looking at their Prosody or OpenFire installs 🀣
