Regardless .. the answer to your question is no, I don't have an OPML .. I just have a ton of feeds that I've been piling up along the way as projects ( clients, servers, libs, tools ) come and go.

I have a friend who's trying to establish herself as a freelance filmmaker. Not into XMPP or anything, but if I manage to get funds from Prav maybe we could collaborate and bring out a few videos

For XMPP we could focus on different aspects like maybe two people having different app preferences, or something that came up today that XMPP was working on an underground subway (via 4G mobile data) even when HTTP requests started timing out

I keep seeing people complaining about XMPP being difficult, hard to lear, how to use and so forth ... and the fact that the XMPP ecosystem is so diverse maybe doesn't help in that regard ... but that diversity is, at the same time, its own strengh.

We have plenty of clients, which have plenty of users of their own. And I'm pretty positive that, among the users of each client, there are some fine folks that would probably like to, and be good at, creating videos on how to onboard, configure, use ( and abuse ) their client of choice

And the same can be said about the servers .. and libs .. and tools

That's true. I don't watch many videos myself, but I've seen a lot of general "How to do X on Y app" videos which people seem to find useful. Both full tours as well as short videos dedicated to specific tasks

And they are exactly the kind of target I keep thinking on: those that still haven't onboarded

Still .. that's a complex case. There is a lot of use for that, but that's a marginal case.

I think there's a whole spectrum, from people who're just scrolling (where the lighter/catchier videos would help, and that's what I was initially thinking of) to those who're somewhat interested (so, they'd see comparisons of various software or maybe reviews of what each can do) and then those who are actually digging deep (who would want more instructional content on how to set things up and configure them, etc.)

So ideally we need different kinds of videos to cover that entire range! ✏

It's all part of communication. Trying to reach out to those who still don't get the message.

Makes sense. That's what we're trying to do at Prav too: spend at least as much effort on spreading the word as on the actual development. Since unfortunately just having options existing doesn't mean people will know about them!

Maybe we can try making a "how to make screencasts" video (or finding a good existing one) and then share that with various XMPP projects

If we find a few people willing to help others figure out the video editing process, that would be even better
