  1. badrihippo

    Thank you all! 😇

  2. badrihippo

Starting on the next round of editing now, so let's see how that goes

  4. badrihippo

I'll do the rest of the content in a bit; just edited Movim and added Monocles for now

  5. badrihippo

As well as the other project icons 😅

  6. badrihippo

By the way, do you think I can leave out the headlines and just have the body text straight away? Since it's only a line or two anyway. Would save quite a bit of space I think

  7. badrihippo

If it works, would be good to split Monocles into 4 entries like Movim since each happened at a different time (I don't think it's all just one big operation)

  8. gnemmi

4:15 am ... you caught me on last check on the phone before going to bed!

  9. gnemmi

    Let's take a look 😃

  10. gnemmi

badrihippo, you are doing an awesome job .. it looks superb!

    ❤️ 1
  11. gnemmi

May I pitch in with some suggestions?

  12. gnemmi

May I pitch in with minor suggestions?

  13. badrihippo

    Sure, go ahead!

  14. badrihippo

(And feel free to do it later, after you wake up, if you prefer 🙃)

  15. gnemmi

*Major release of Slidge gateway Library* Slidge version 0.3.0 introduced: support for (optional) reaction fallbacks, moved a lot of gateway-wide settings to user-specific settings, check the “preferences” command (adhoc or chatbot-style) and support for pronouns in VCards.

  16. gnemmi

shortened from 353 to 231 chars

  17. gnemmi

    Movim 0.30 Movim 0.31 Movim 0.32

  18. gnemmi

*Movim 0.31* Implemeted the NLNet funded simultaneous webcam and screen sharing.

  19. badrihippo

The thing is, "Movim v0.30 'Encke' released" isn't going to save any more space than "Movim 0.30" because we'll still have to reserve that space _in the current layout_

  20. badrihippo

I just got another idea though: instead of headlines with larger text, I can just have them inline with the rest of the text but make them bold

  21. badrihippo

That way shortening it will actually save space, and conversely we can shift all the important bits to "bold" instead of "normal" without taking up more space!

    👍 1
  22. badrihippo

Wait let me implement it and then it'll become clearer 😉

  23. gnemmi

    > The thing is, "Movim v0.30 'Encke' released" isn't going to save any more space than "Movim 0.30" because we'll still have to reserve that space _in the current layout_ True.

  24. gnemmi

You are right .. I was thinking about consistency on the titles

    👍🏽 1
  25. gnemmi

Gajim and Dino are just perfect. Impecable job right there 💯

  26. gnemmi

    Same for NLnet funding

  27. gnemmi

( Not to mention the cover and the back cover .. which look awesome)

  28. gnemmi

I *really* love what you did ther 💯

  29. gnemmi

    *Monocles Chat major features*

  33. gnemmi

Plase, take all of them as simple suggestions

  34. badrihippo

A bit more progress; bear with me while I re-add the icons. I included Libervia's updates too, though I'm yet to edit it properly. Will do all that after a break

  36. badrihippo

The good news is the layout changes combined with gnemmi's editing have resulted in ample space for Libervia's entries (maybe with room to spare)! I will try to split up Monocles if I can; let's see

    🤗 1
  37. gnemmi

badrihippo, I'll stay here with you mate!

    😊 1
  38. gnemmi

I'd get rid of all the instances of the word "releases" though

  39. gnemmi

*Gajim 2.0.0*: a major redesign. The entire user interface toolkit has now been migrated to GTK 4.

  40. gnemmi

*Dino v0.5* OMEMO encryption by default, improved file transfers, image preview and other file details before downloading, and two completely reworked dialogs.

  41. gnemmi

*Movim 0.30*: the biggest Movim evolution in years. This update includes multi-participant calls, reactions displayed in the detailed message view, Unicode 15.1, plenty of new emojis and avatar change on contacts new Story.

  42. gnemmi

*Movim 0.3.1*: implements NLnet founded simultaneous webcam and screen sharing.

  43. gnemmi

*Movim 0.32*: One of the biggest releases ever made, it includes improvements in three major areas: instant messaging, social networking, and video conferencing.

  44. gnemmi

*Conversations 2.19.3*: upgrades connection security. TLS 1.3 is now required by default for all connections with a setting to opt out.

  45. gnemmi

*Slidge gateway to other IM networks*: versions 0.3.0 introduced support for (optional) reaction fallbacks, moved a lot of gateway-wide settings to user-specific settings, check the “preferences” command (adhoc or chatbot-style) and support for pronouns in VCards.

  46. cal0pteryx

The layout looks great :) I like the title page and it's color gradient.

    💯 2😁 1
  47. cal0pteryx

Since this is a rare occasion to see screenshots printed, wouldn't it be best to use the most recent ones? E.g. Gajim looks a bit different today, because it uses "Adwaita" now on top of GTK4

    👍 1
  48. gnemmi

*Monocles Chat*: Gained a vcard profile editor allows you to share your profile as a simple business card via QR code. A chat overview calendar to easily jump to messages by date. Pin multiple messages. And “User Tune” to display which song you are currently listening to.

  49. gnemmi

  50. gnemmi

cal0pteryx, that's the one I used for the Newsletter when Gajim introduced Adwaita

  51. gnemmi

And, yes, I agree with you

  52. badrihippo

Okay I lied; I went ahead and added the icons right away! I need to set the margins though. Also, Movim's having some issue renderig in Scribus that I need to debug and Monocles' colour has to be set but yeah otherwise all good

    > cal0pteryx, that's the one I used for the Newsletter when Gajim introduced Adwaita Sure I can use this screenshot instead

    > *Monocles Chat*: Gained a vcard profile editor allows you to share your profile as a simple business card via QR code. A chat overview calendar to easily jump to messages by date. Pin multiple messages. And “User Tune” to display which song you are currently listening to. Just a side note. The profile vcard is also xep standardized and is synchronized in the contact details. Sharing as QR code is just additionally.

    👍 1☝️ 1
  56. emus

badrihippo: great job. Also the title page! Two requests: - can you make a bit of more distamce between app logo and title? - can you rather use the xmpp provider logo. The xep once is more conntected to xsf xep updates

I would still trim the slidge entry to look like this. Get rid of 0.3.1 or s/come/came

  58. gnemmi

And sort the Movim entries to be one after the oder as I posted them above ( it looks cleaner to me .. although, of course, I can always be wrong .. and most of the time actually am :| )

  59. gnemmi

Also, here's the Movim logo I used for a presentation. It may be of help

  60. gnemmi

  61. gnemmi

I don't even know where I got it from though =P

  62. gnemmi

    And the Monocles one ...

  63. gnemmi

  64. badrihippo

Thanks. And yes the Movim one works!

  65. badrihippo

Is it the current logo though? The new one I got off the website looks more fancy

  66. badrihippo

    https://disroot.org/upload/019bcb88-b340-7bd6-9bc4-18c5d7eea7b5/movim.svg

  67. gnemmi

Probably not .. the one I used was from early 2024

  68. badrihippo

I'll just go into the SVG and try fixing the colours

  69. edhelas

    > Also, here's the Movim logo I used for a presentation. It may be of help Theres a new logo
