Hello everyone, A final call for reviews and feedback on the XMPP Newsletter May 2026. Please provide your comments by tomorrow. https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/pull/1683

  2. emus

Please also remember to merge before 5 pm CEST

  3. gnemmi

emus, I already went all over cal0pteryx really thourough review and added a picture for Monocles

  4. gnemmi

emus, I don't think there's much else for me to do unless I'm really forgetting something

  5. gnemmi

Other than that, I think the Newsletter is only missing your review and then it would be ready for publishing

  6. gnemmi

Once again .. that would be in case I'm not missing something very obvious ..

  7. emus

    > Other than that, I think the Newsletter is only missing your review and then it would be ready for publishing I wont manage beside my quick check recently

  8. gnemmi

    Perfect then!

  9. gnemmi

cal0pteryx, and I will handle it!

  10. gnemmi

    Don't worry about it ๐Ÿ‘

  11. Link Mauve

There is a small thing thatโ€™s been bothering me for a long time: marketing-wise, having every newsletter entry being one month โ€œlateโ€ (releasing in June the newsletter of May) feels pretty bad.

  12. Link Mauve

I think it would improve greatly to say this is the June newsletter, even if all changes are from May.

  13. gnemmi

But the newsletter covers everything that happened in may ๐Ÿค”

  14. Link Mauve

That way people living in June will feel like they have up to date information, instead of ditching it since May is already in the past.

  15. gnemmi

I do get your point, of course

  16. Link Mauve

gnemmi, articles are usually dated on the date they got published, not the date their contents got written at.

  17. gnemmi

    Agreed

  18. gnemmi

Personally, I don't have any objections. It's not a bad idea and we still have time to fix that. But that's not up to me to decide.

  19. gnemmi

    emus, cal0pteryx: ๐Ÿ‘†

  20. emus

gnemmi: we can just call it XMPP Newsletter and put a date range small below.

  21. gnemmi

Maybe .. or we could move from month to issue number .. like in XMPP Newsletter #92 ..

  22. gnemmi

Idk .. I'm just thinking this as we speak

  23. erebion

The Unicode Consortium allows adopting emoji, could the XSF adopt an emoji through crowdfunding that? I believe it starts at 5000 USD.

  24. singpolyma

    What emoji?

  25. Ge0rG
