I can't find the exact conclusion of the discussion. It was initially suggested by flow. We discussed it in various Board meetings. We have a wiki page on it, too: https://wiki.xmpp.org/web/Adopt-a-Character

We referenced to it as "adopt a character"

unsure where things went after that.

There was an email sent by flow to the standards mailing list with subject "XSF to Adopt-a-Character" (I don't think that exists in our archives anymore)

That mail was sent on April 16 2020, in case someone wants to check their local archive

I did not record any response to that.

anyways, I'm off again. So far for my drive-by involvement.
