KevFritzy did mention trouble with the house a day or two ago, although I didn't think that was intended to be apologies for Council. Maybe it was.

linuxwolfHERE!
MattJYay!
linuxwolf/whew
KevWell, no sign of Fritzy or Ralph.
KevOh, this does make me wonder about something, I'll AOB it.
Kev1) Roll call
dwdrolls.
KevMatt & Matt & Kev. I'm not sure if Fritzy intended to apologise or not. Ralph hasn't.
Kev2) Agenda bashing.
KevI'll add something about minutes to the end.
linuxwolfthinks of Newhart
MattJNo bashing
linuxwolfI've got nothing to add or object to this week
Kev3) http://www.xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/remote-auth.html
Accept as XEP?
MattJ+1
linuxwolfI guess
KevDespite some quite active discussion on the list, I don't see a reason to block this for the moment.
linuxwolfagreed
linuxwolf+1 on accepting, but I doubt it actually solving a problem
linuxwolfIMO
KevRight.
Kev4) Interop report (Kev)
KevSo, we've got the server interop event this week.
KevM-Link, Ejabberd, Prosody, Tigase and Psyched are participating on the server side, things are underway, we're doing basic today, TLS tomorrow, and TLS with cert checking Friday.
KevI've put up some basic test plan, am vaguely overseeing (I'm avoiding being the Isode contact so I can keep my XSF hat on), and I'll write up an informal report at the end of the week.
KevNot much to say other than that.
Kev5) bis report (Peter)
KevExcept stpeter seems to be DND.
dwdMy amazing psychic powers tell me he's on the phone.
linuxwolfgoes around corner to see if he's in office
KevQuite.
Kev6) e2e report (Peter)
KevAlso problematic without Peter.
KevSo let's jump to my extra point
mlundbladdwd: my amazing contact list tells me he's "on the phone"
mlundblad:)
linuxwolfstpeter must be working form home…so no way to ping him
Kev7) Minutes of Council attendance.
linuxwolfs/ping/poke
stpeterhmm
MattJlinuxwolf, could give him a call... oh
dwdlinuxwolf, Yeah, working from home, we all know what that means.
linuxwolf"A wild stpeter appears!"
stpeterstupid calendar didn't pop up a reminder
KevI don't intend to be a bastard about it, but I keep writing minutes saying "X wuz ere" in the Roll call, when X didn't turn up until Council was about to end.
KevAs these are supposed to be a record of what actually happens, I think they should probably indicate this.
linuxwolfKev: 10 minute rule
KevSo I'm inclined to start saying "Here, not here, late"
MattJFine by me, that also occurred in my mind when reading the last minutes
Kevlinuxwolf: Is that as an alternative to what I propose?
KevIt wasn't that I want to start being a bastard about anyone 30 seconds late.
linuxwolfKev: yes…from my college days…if you're more than 10 minutes late, you're "not here"
dwdI would also note that for members who actually care about who they vote for, having an accurate account of who turns up to meetings, and who votes (and when!) is a useful metric.
Kevdwd: I'm not convinced by 'and when', any more.
linuxwolfwhich impacted your ability to access the lab compueters
KevGiven that we now have a standard voting period, and we stick to it.
stpeteranyway, about e2e I've talked with the OTR guys about potentially documenting their stuff in an RFC (probably informational), we'll see where that leads
Kevlinuxwolf: Which is ok, except that 10 minutes late is 33% of the longest Council meeting :)
MattJ+1 - I might vote late because I want to give the specs more careful review, etc.
stpeterscrolls up
linuxwolfKev: 5 minutes late?
linuxwolf(-:
dwdMattJ, Yes, that seems reasonable. Not voting at all is less than helpful, though, speaking as a spec author (on occasion).
MattJAgreed
linuxwolf/nod
Kevlinuxwolf: I was going to go by the "If someone's late, they're marked late", and "If someone's not here by the time I gavel-bang, they're Not Here"
KevSo I'll go with this method in future minutes unless someone fiercely objects.
linuxwolfKev: either works for me…depends on how heavy-handed we want to be
KevI don't overly intend to be heavy-handed, and needing to poke someone because they forgot, and turn up 30seconds later isn't the point.
linuxwolfKev: you're the Chair, afterall (-:
Kevgoes to read up for stpeter's comment.
KevOk, so that was the e2e report - bis, stpeter?
stpeterthe bis docs are getting closer every day, damn IESG members :)
mlundbladhas left
stpeterstill waiting for further feedback from the general area review team reviewer
dwdI admit I'm probably not exactly helping by nitpicking on bits I re-review. :-/
KevEnough of a report for me :)
KevDate of next meeting?
linuxwolfdwd: are you admitting to being a troll? (-:
stpeterit's on the agenda for next Thursday again (IESG telechat)
KevI'm inclined at this point to suggest 'first Wed in Jan', and skip the holiday season, but could be talked into other things.
dwdlinuxwolf, No, I just happen to *like* living under this bridge.
dwdKev, Might be useful to have one next week to review this week's interop.
linuxwolfagreed
stpeteryeah, interop review would be good
KevI can do next week, as long as my Isode overlords keep me out of meetings despite being in the office.
linuxwolf(with dwd, oddly enough)
stpeterI tried to ping those Cisco people to participate ;-)
MattJstpeter, do we have any reliable 3rd-party opinions of OTR's suitability for XMPP?
MattJNext week is fine
linuxwolfkeeps his XSF hat on
stpeterMattJ: not really
linuxwolfMattJ: I have comments, but have kept them to myself so far (-:
linuxwolfI should stop doing that
KevOk, so next week, usual time?
stpeterMattJ: first we'd do an informational draft and then try standards-track, I think
linuxwolf+1
dwdKev, I'd forgotten about our little roadtrip.
MattJstpeter, ok, I can't wait :)
Kevdwd: I was taking your proposal to be an assurance that you'd keep me out of meetings for that time :)
Kev8) Any other business?
linuxwolfnone from me
dwdKev, WHat, I'm an overlord now? Cool.
MattJDitto
Kevdwd: No, Steve's the overlord, you're just responsible for keeping him away next Wednesday afternoon at 4 :)
KevIn any case.
KevLacking AOB, fini.
KevThanks all.
linuxwolfgrazie
KevI'll send out minutes sometime soon (usually tomorrow).
