  2. Lance

  6. MattJ

  7. Lance shakes fist at DST switches

  8. Lance

    Peter sends apologies

  9. SamWhited is not here to notate.

  10. SamWhited

    Or is passively here, anyways.

  11. Lance

Reminders that we have XEP-0300 and XEP-0371 out last call comments.

  12. Lance

    1) Accept as experimental? http://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/omemo.html

  13. Tobias

i should probably wait until that LC-0300 has ended with the updates for it, right?

  14. Tobias

will vote on list for 1)

  15. Lance

    Tobias right

  16. Lance

OMEMO has been updated to reference Olm. I'm +1 for the new version

  17. Tobias

    looking forward to reading it

  18. Lance

    2) Accept as experimental? http://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/spoiler.html

  19. Tobias

will vote on list for 2)

  20. Lance

I'm +1 for this one too. It looks to be getting good feedback on list, so that's exciting

  21. Lance

    3) XEP-0198: Send 'a' element before stream closure https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/263

  22. Lance

+1 again, the change is sensible

  23. MattJ

    +1

  24. MattJ

    Wait

  25. MattJ

    I'll vote on list

  26. Tobias

    makes sense...+1 on that

  27. Lance

MattJ that was for 3) ?

  28. MattJ

    Yeah

  29. MattJ

Sorry, had a call and got confused

  30. Lance

    4) XEP-0060: include publisher with any item retrieval https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/267/files

  31. MattJ

    On-list for items 1-3

  32. Lance

    I'm +1

  33. MattJ

    +1

  34. Tobias

    +1

  35. Lance

    5) Accept as experimental? https://xmpp.org/extensions/inbox/burner.html

  36. Tobias

will vote on list on 5)

  37. Lance

I'll also vote on list for this one

  38. MattJ

Me too. There were some questions raised on the list that I'm not sure were resolved (or I haven't caught up yet)

  39. Lance

    6) The Council needs to name leaders for the proposed IoT SIG.

  40. Lance

This was added by Peter. Anyone have suggestions?

  41. Tobias

do we have suggestions for possible candidates? are they required to be XSF members?

  42. Lance

We probably need Peter around for this one to answer those questions :/

  43. Tobias

    ok

  44. Lance

    7) Date of next

  45. Lance

Next week the US will be on DST, so timing will be consistent again :)

  46. Tobias

    wfm

  47. Tobias

why did you guys wait a week for DST?

  48. Lance

This would be the final meeting of the term. Today's is the last meeting for new items for voting.

  49. Lance

    8) AOB?

  50. SamWhited

There are outstanding votes on this card (Dave, Lance, Matt); were they ever submitted? https://trello.com/c/Ilh8CpaH/114-xep-0045-define-option-name-for-enabling-disabling-mam

  51. Lance

I dont think they were. I'll add my +1

  52. MattJ

Hmm, I thought there was already a -1 on that one

  53. MattJ

I thought consensus was that things like this should go into the registry instead of updating '45

  54. Zash

Is s xep required to add to registry ?

  55. MattJ

Good question. I don't think so, though

  56. Lance

I dont think we recorded an official -1, should I mark you as -1 then MattJ?

  57. SamWhited

Thanks. On that note, should cards for things with a -1 be archived?

  58. MattJ

I'll vote on list with the other items this week, sorry it slipped through

  59. MattJ

I want to review the discussion we had around it

  60. Lance

    Ta

  61. Lance

    AOAOB?

  62. Tobias

    none here

  63. SamWhited

AOAOB: I would also appreciate a review of https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/274 from the council; I don't *think* it changes anything, but I feel weird touching xep-0001 without making sure

  64. Lance

The approving body for XEP-0001 is the Board IIRC

  65. SamWhited

Oh; I suppose that makes sense. Will move that to their agenda then. Thanks.

  66. Lance bangs gavel

  67. Lance

    Thanks all

  68. SamWhited

Last thing from me (sorry): Reminder that there are three things in last call. That can wait until next week, I just wanted to make sure I proded so the two weeks doesn't end without discussion.

  69. Lance rescinds bavel gang

  70. Lance

    Thanks SamWhited

  71. SamWhited

No discussion needed this week necessarily; I just wanted to make sure I brought it up while everyone was in the room :)

  72. MattJ

What are the three things? Are they shows in Trello?

  73. MattJ

    *shown

  74. SamWhited

MattJ: Yah, they should have cards in Trello. EXI, 0371, and 0300

  75. MattJ

    k, thanks

  76. SamWhited

There has been some list discussion of 0371 and 0300 at least.

  77. SamWhited

The EXI last call is actually a very old one. Not sure what to do about that.

  78. SamWhited

So maybe there are actually two things in last call, and one thing (EXI) that the editor would like guidance on :) I'm probably going to just move it back to experimental unless someone tells me otherwise.

  79. MattJ

    Sounds sensible

  80. SamWhited

One more thing if anyone is still here (sorry, every time there's an editor backlog it turns into me dumping a ton of stuff on council all at once when I get around to trying to catch up): for draft XEPs I need to get council approval for changes, but is that true for registrar stuff as well?

  81. SamWhited

(specifically, do I need to get council votes on https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/257/files)

  82. SamWhited

XEP-0001 suggests no, at least, in my interpretation because the changes aren't material, but it also says ultimate authority for draft XEPs rests with the council, so I figured I'd ask.

  83. Lance

    http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0053.html

  84. SamWhited

oh hey, there's a whole separate thing for registrar stuff; thanks

  85. SamWhited prints and reads

  86. Lance

Seems like the Registrar has a lot of freedom over registries. Can add things at their discretion, defering to the list and council as they deem necessary

  87. SamWhited

Sounds good to me; I'll get that merged as soon as possible.

  88. Link Mauve

    Thanks. :)

  89. Dave Cridland

Not sure how attend-y I'll be today. In Italy on a train to Rome.

  90. Zash

    Dave Cridland: For what?

  91. Dave Cridland

Council? Or not? Come to think of it I didn't look to see if we were meeting.

  92. Dave Cridland

Or have I been eaten by timezones...

  93. Lance

    timezones

  94. Zash

    You have

  95. Zash

    Off-by-DST error

  96. Dave Cridland

Oh, did you peg the meeting time to utc?

  97. SamWhited

Can someone with GitHub permissions give the "XEP Editors" team access to the registrar repo? I thought I had it before, but now I can't merge changes.

  98. SamWhited

cc bear, Kev who appear to be the admins

  99. bear

    SamWhited I can do that

  100. bear

SamWhited XEP Editors team now has write access to xsf/registrar

  101. SamWhited

    bear: Thanks!

  102. bear

    yvw

  103. SamWhited

Time to get this entity caps stuff sorted.

  104. SamWhited

bear: one more thing: Is it possible to give the team permission to create labels on that repo?

  105. SamWhited

oh gosh, ignore me; the create button just isn't where I expected it to be.

  106. bear

doesn't write have that - if not i'll make them admin's

  107. bear

    :)
