I've started a summary of the recent discussions around OMEMO and the possible solutions on the table, will hopefully get done with that today or tomorrow and send it to standards list

I note that on that topic (OMEMO), I *think* there's a proposal on the table that (while a heavy compromise for everyone) has at least Remko, daniel and me thinking it's manageable. I'm somewhat keen that we don't move backwards now :)

there's an agenda to vote on the OMEMO XEP update but i imagine at least some on the council are waiting on my summary so i suggest we vote on that next week

Yah, I'd like to wait for a summary; I'll also ping Andy to comment again, I think he wants to stay out of it, but I'd like to get his opinion on some of the new stuff if he can be convinced.

there is also voting on obsoleting XEP-0146: Remote Controlling Clients on the agenda, but according to https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0001.html#approval-info the next step is Deprecated, for an Active Informational XEP

so, do we want to vote on deprecating it?

Seems like we should go straight to obsolete to me; we want to say "don't deploy this, there are security issues"

There's no minimum period for deprecated (that I can remember), so you're eventually just voting to deprecated and then immediately voting to obsolete.
