I have not noticed any significant difference between Andy and the majority of the XEP authors (if anything, he's done better by being around to answer questions, being in the discussion at the summit about it, etc.)

But this sounds like the sort of thing we should discuss when everyone is here, unless someone just really wants to go down that route today

I'd understood Andy wasn't interested in progressing the XEP, and so would be stepping down rather than continuing future development of the spec, rather than him being forcibly removed.

FWIW, I am completely lost and am not sure which person is talking about which thing (status-quo vs. current vs. what andy submitted). A summary of this for the logs would be good

I believe the voting action is whether Council is telling the Editors to publish Daniel's PR to update it to match current deployment despite not having Author approval.

I believe that #470 has (rough) consensus. If that needs a formal vote, then +1.

I don't think we'd be doing andy too much injustice if we'd merge that.

I agree, although I still think it's worth following the normal procedure.
