we're fortunately not in a hurry today, as there's nothing on the agenda except for chair election and date selection

despite the confirmation

well, something spontaneous can always come up

2) Welcome

Welcome moparisthebest and larma to the council.

3) Chair Election

we need a chair who'll lead the meetings, prepare an agenda in advance and in general act as the head of the comittee

typically, this involves 30min of work a day or two before council

in addition, the chair should stay on top (pun not intended) their own attendance and ensure that a replacement is agreed upon if they have to be absent

do we have any volunteers?

jonas’ has done an excellent job. If he volunteers again I'll happily vote for him

If not I'll step forward

[if moparisthebest or larma want to volunteer, I'd be happy to provide support during a transition]

I'd generally prefer to take a hiatus with that this term.

I'm in a bit of a sticky situation, next week this time slot will be fine, the next week I'll be in a new job and have no idea (though I suspect it'll also be fine)

one of us is supposed to be liaison with board, being subscribed to their ML and also attend their meetings if possible

I am happy to continue with that task, but I'll also step aside if anyone else wants to.

5) Meeting Schedule

I like the wednesday 16:00Z following europe-DST slot.

would that work long term for anyone, barring the usual surprises of having to switch jobs or stuff like that?

moparisthebest: it'll jump by one hour for a few weeks in the year because DST change is not synced between Europe and the US

(during DST change weeks we can probably also make spontaneous arrangements)

In additino, I just sent an email via the council@ mailing list, please check if it arrives and if it doesn't or there are problems, please poke iteam about it

(but don't worry if it isn't there *right now*, for some reason the list server hates me and delays my mail for 30min sometimes)

6b) Pending Last Calls etc.

I'll poke the editor to take a look at that. Also there's a Last Call queued which I'll hope to start before the next meeting for us to vote on soon-ish.

FWIW, the Board liason was Council Chair when it was introduced, rather than an arbitrary person, but I doubt anyone really cares.
