Kev
Could https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1278 go onto the agenda, please?
-
larma
That's just changing examples, which are not normative, no?
-
Kev
Correct - but I'm not sure that 'non-normative' and 'Editor should merge without checking with Council' are necessarily the same. I'd rather err on the side of caution than overstep.
-
Kev
https://github.com/xsf/xeps/pull/1270 too please.
-
larma
That's experimental and thus needs to be approved by author only, no?
-
Kev
The script tells me it's proposed and should go to Council
-
larma
I think 0424 should have moved back to experimental after council decided to not move it to stable after the last call expired in January 2022
-
Kev
I did try to go through Council minutes to see if there were any actions for me to take, but couldn't find any going back an awfully long time.
-
larma
Also I read 0001 such that even in Proposed state, Council is not required, but last call feedback is incorporated by XEP author or Document Shepherd
-
Kev
Jan 2022 was further back than I looked.
-
larma
Not saying you did anything wrong 🙂
-
larma
The proposal to move 424 and 425 to stable was rejected on 2022-01-05 es per my logs
-
Kev
To check - they were rejected, or chosen to return to Experimental?
-
Kev
I'll make a note to myself to handle that next time I do an Editor parse (just finished this one)
-
larma
Technically, council voted no on "Move XEP-0424 (Message Retraction) to stable"
-
larma
That lacks clear action for editor
-
Kev
Could I ask Council to let me know whether they're going back to Experimental or being rejected, please? :)
-
larma
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aA6tQJ8XJ_UjCKrcJ6CyG-l3L5xETSlBrPRR-37Z_1E/edit#gid=0 also doesn't list any editor action for that voting item
-
larma
Yes 😉

Kev
I also note that Council (Daniel, IIRC) promised to leave a comment on GitHub on behalf of Council for PRs that have had actions voted on them, and I don't see any. I'm not sure if that's because the "letting me know" hasn't happened, or votes haven't happened. I don't mind getting those notifications as GH comments, a mail to Editor or in Council minute mails, if GH comments aren't good.
