  8. daniel

Nothing on the agenda this week again.

  9. daniel

    2) Date of next

  10. moparisthebest

  11. daniel

    3) AOB

  16. moparisthebest

    Nothing here

  17. larma

If we make it a requirement for the XEP to be moved to Inbox by the editor, what do we do about the current editor situation?

  18. daniel

hasn’t this always been how the process works?

  19. daniel

i didn’t just make that up

  20. larma

Yes, but we used to have an active editor

  21. jonas’

    +1w wfm

  22. daniel

are you suggestion we should vote on that xep regardless or are you saying we should do something about the editor situation?

  23. daniel

are you suggesting we should vote on that xep regardless or are you saying we should do something about the editor situation?

  24. larma

Our previous great editor would go through all pending PRs typically on Tuesday so that they are in Inbox in time for the meeting on Wednesday. I don't see that happening with the current editor situation.

  25. larma

It just feels wrong to delay the discussion about the XEP to an undefined point in time because we fail to get our editor situation resolved.

  26. larma

(then also, with broken mailing list, the main discussion venue is also not available anyways)

  27. larma

(then also, with broken mailing list, the main discussion venue is also not available anyways, but that's a different topic)

  28. daniel

    just the archives

  29. daniel

ok; so should I put MUC Token invites on next weeks agenda?

  30. larma

    yes, sorry

  31. larma

also yes, I'd propose to put MUC Token Invites on next weeks agenda, regardless if it was moved to inbox by then or not

  32. daniel

(since pep. asked for feedback I actually read that last week and would be ready to vote on it now fwiw)

  33. moparisthebest

    Me too

  34. larma

I would also be fine with voting now

  35. daniel

Ok. please vote for 'proposed xmpp extension: muc token invite' (https://bouah.net/specs/muc-token-invite.html)

  36. daniel

    +1

  37. moparisthebest

    +1

  38. larma

    +1

  39. Ge0rG

    on-list

  40. daniel

ok Ge0rG and jonas’ on list (or during next weeks meeting)

  41. daniel

    assuming no further AOB?

  42. Ge0rG

    none here

  43. larma

Also, while we are at it, can we, as the council, somehow issue a note to the board, that the current editor situation is blocking council / XEP work and thus should be resolved?

  44. larma

Resolved as in: not just wait for it to magically resolve

  45. daniel

as the council liasion that's up to me. i'll do that in the next board meeting

  46. moparisthebest

So I'm going to further automate some editor stuff soonish, and then lovetox and I will volunteer for editor team

  47. daniel

as the council liaison that's up to me. i'll do that in the next board meeting

  48. moparisthebest

iirc lovetox already volunteered, but I will not until all the possible automation is merged

  49. larma

    Thanks

  50. daniel

    4) Close

  51. daniel

    thank you all

  52. larma

    Thanks Daniel, thanks all.

  53. moparisthebest

Basically the solution needs to be to make editor job so easy that anyone can do it in a few clicks, the solution can't be to get another hero to do everything themselves forever /rant :)

  54. moparisthebest

    Thanks all!

  55. jonas’

    oh I didn't anticipate a vote, sorry

  56. jonas’

    I'm +1, daniel

  57. daniel

    jonas’, I recorded your vote

  58. jonas’

    daniel, thanks!

  59. Kev

While any comments that I don't have enough time spare to do Editor job properly are true, and any efforts to get 'real' Editors onboard are worthwhile, I'd just like to note that even the previous Editors wouldn't always have gotten things from PR through to the inbox and on the Council agenda if they were submitted the day before.

  60. Ge0rG

I'm pretty sure nobody is blaming the editors for anything :)

  61. moparisthebest

No definitely not, it shouldn't take so much time and fall on 1 person

  62. pep.

Thanks all, yeah I had forgotten about the editors step..

  63. larma

Kev, I wasn't blaming you or anyone else volunteering to do editor works. My idea was just to make sure we put this XEP proposal on the Agenda for next week even if none of the editors had time to move it to inbox - so that the current situation has as minimal impact on XEP/Council work as possible.
