No, I'm uneasy about voting on a proposal that isn't the author's. But I'll share my above wording on the mailing list and see if it generates any additional movement there

eventually we should vote on moving retraction to stable. but that too has some list discussion going on that i want to see play out for anthor week

anyway since there is nothing on the agenda today
