    Guus, I agree. I was planning to silently omit the short name once it moves to final

  2. Kev

    Everything is meant to have a shortname isn't it?

  3. jonasw

    is it?

  4. jonasw

    doesn’t sound reasonable for things which don’t need a namespace

  5. SamWhited

    I don't think it's really related to the namespace other than being convenient to use the same thing for both, it's just a way to reference a spec easily.

  6. Guus

    "When a XEP is first published in the Experimental state, the XMPP Registrar shall work with the author(s) to mint an appropriate namespace name, which shall be of the form "urn:xmpp:ShortName:0" or, where appropriate, "urn:xmpp:ShortName:SubName:0"

  7. Guus

    namespace name includes shortname

  8. jonasw

    SamWhited, let me rephrase: often useful, but I don’t think that every XEP needs a shortname.
