    > lovetox> eme is for clients that dont want to support encryption, but still want to know when a encrypted message arrives not entirely true, nobody supports "all encryption mechanisms", so EME is here to tell clients about mechanisms they don't know. (remember, the XSF is not the only place for XMPP specs). That said, that's only important if we care about backward/forward compat much. In a Snikket-like world it's slightly easier.
