Do any widely implemented specs actually use XEP-0131: Stanza Headers and Internet Metadata?

  2. flow

    xep332 maybe

  3. flow

isn't the real question: is SHIM a good fit for your protocol and use case

  4. flow

I do believe that there are some places where using SHIM is sensible, but in some cases it feels like re-using HTTP headers just for the sake of re-using HTTP headers. Which feels wrong (just like MUC initially re-used HTTP status codes)

  5. Sam

No, the question is exactly what I was asking :) "widely implemented" being the important part (so not XEP-0332 as far as I know)

  6. MattJ

I think that question is the wrong one to ask

  7. MattJ

It may not be widely implemented, but I think it is valuable to have a standard way of expressing this data

  8. jonas’

    isn’t XEP-0060 using it?

  9. jonas’

    https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0060.html#publisher-publish-success-subid

  10. Sam

The question is "is there anything I'm going to need later that depends on this and therefore I have to implement it?", it's the question I was trying to ask. If it's useful but unused I don't care for now.

  11. Sam

0060 is a good one and I didn't know or remember that it was using this; thanks

  12. jonas’

I think '60 is the reason why aioxmpp has shims for SHIM

Hi, general question: Shouldnt we give the chat a proper name if it was intended to be a landibg zone for newcomers?

  14. Ellenor Bjornsdottir

Don't know if the server supports channel vcards.

  15. emus

oh ok, but maybe it could be updated with this?
