    lovetox, if it is 100% clear that you are referring to the trademarked thing, and not pretending that your thing is, is related to, or is affiliated with or endorsed by, the trademarked thing... it's fine

    But obviously something like "google-drive-downloader" does not meet those rules, it could easily be mistaken as an official Google Drive downloader

    A much less experienced version of myself thought that trademarks did not apply to open-source projects, but these days I make checking trademarks a routine part of naming any new project that I care about

    Unfortunately there is no global trademark database, but at least check the one that you and the primary developers are in (which is EU-wide)
