The error reply `<error type='auth'><forbidden xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-stanzas'/></error>` to an iq means I am not allowed to send this iq because we don't have mutually subscription?
-
lovetox
probably
-
lovetox
i mean its hard to say why a server sends you forbidden
-
lovetox
but its evident that he things you should not have access to that information
-
lovetox
one reason could be subscription
-
lovetox
but could also be that the contact does not exist on the server for example
-
lovetox
server usually dont want to tell you anything in this case, so its probably "forbidden" for a range of errors
-
Martin
Hard. 🙂

Ok, conversations.im literally says `presence-subscription-required`… I was trying to request Ox keys.
-
Martin
I wonder why you don't make Ox keys world accessible as you do with OMEMO. :-/

Stefan
XEP-0373 - 4.1 In absence of a use-case specific access model, it is RECOMMENDED to use the 'open' access model for the public key data node in order to give entities without presence subscription read access to the public key.

Martin
Sorry.

Martin
Seems like profanity doesn't set them to open.

Stefan
