jonas’: https://github.com/TheMozg/awk-raycaster sorry when I see something awesome and crazy with sed or awk I still think of you lol

  2. jonas’

moparisthebest, you do realize that we sedians don't consider awk-ward achievements, they have functions in that language after all.

nicoco, https://nicoco.fr/blog/2022/09/04/slidge-first-beta/ seems to be missing some images for me in the 'Screenshots' section

  4. nicoco

oh indeed MattJ, thanks, it's fixed. looks like middle click copy paste gone wrong+bad (hear, manual) deployment workflow for my static site generator

  5. MattJ

    :)

  6. Trung

nicoco: you had me at "legacy"

  7. nicoco

Trung: from XEP-0100 (Gateway Interaction) glossary section >Legacy Service > A non-XMPP instant messaging service. I like this definition

  8. MattJ

I'm writing something about slidge right now, and it made my change "proprietary" to "legacy" in my text :)

  9. MattJ

I'm writing something about slidge right now, and it made me change "proprietary" to "legacy" in my text :)

  10. MattJ

    (it fits better too)

  11. Trung

looks like imma need to register an facebook account again just for this

  12. nicoco

I plan to propose a XEP0100 update (or a new XEP maybe, since it's stable?) someday™, but I'll keep the "legacy service" terminology, it's just too good 🙂 Trung: super cool if you try! I need bug reports! Tell me how bad it is!

  13. nicoco

MattJ, you probably want to reference the latest blog post about slidge (and not the first one) if you're writing something…?

  14. MattJ

    Yep, shall do

  15. MattJ

You own slidge.im? It's a convenient URL but I think the page may be less useful than the one on sr.ht, and both contain less info than your blog posts (which aren't linked directly)

  16. MattJ

Maybe just a little "News" section at the top, if nothing else

  17. pep.

Is the xmpp-web dev around here by any chance?

  18. nicoco

https://slidge.im is the documentation indeed. since slidge is for server admins to install, I think it was OK this way. I could add links to the blog posts at the top indeed, thanks for the suggestion.

  19. MattJ

The main reason I care is that this is printed material, so people will need to type in any URLs

  20. MattJ

and the blog post one is a bit long

  21. Kev

    QR? :)

  22. Trung

and make sure people can help with translation.

  23. Trung

for the user's documentation i meant

  24. MattJ

Kev, I will probably use QR in places, but in this case space is quite tight and there will be various URLs on the page, so it might get awkward

  25. nicoco

MattJ: there you go! https://git.sr.ht/~nicoco/slidge/commit/981daa Trung: user's documentation is rather minimal right now. admin docs are somehow OKish, maybe? my short term plans are mostly to improve dev docs first because they are a bit outdated. I think internationalisation of messages/dialog sent to ther users would be awesome. Ideally, users shouldn't need to read any docs, or maybe instance-specific docs provided by their XMPP operator...

  26. Trung

admin and dev doc is good, i'll implemented. Personally I think centralize the doc at source is always better (biboumi is an example). But up to you 😊

  27. MattJ

    nicoco, thanks!

  28. Trung

    yeah thank you !
