the password could be your join token, its even stored in bookmarks and distributed to all devices

of course members-only would need to be disabled

maybe there are server settings, or mods, that make all users to members once they are joined?

then we could even have both

otherwise it would probably be easy to add a <token> element to some join presence, and the server could then do its stuff

this would be easy to implement, and fully backwards compatible

that about sums up the options. so all that is left is that a client dev and a server dev sits down and writes some code ;)
