seems https://search.jabber.network is down
-
jonas’
look at that
-
jonas’
my money is on "a disk ran full"
-
jonas’
thanks for the hint, lovetox_
-
lovetox_
an now i notice how desperatly i depend on its service
-
jonas’
okay, I was wrong
-
jonas’
_three_ disks ran full
-
jonas’
impressive
-
jonas’
ETA 10 minutes until it's back up
-
lovetox_
thanks jonas’
-
lovetox_
jonas’, is the code for that service open source? could we run this service on gajim.org? I think it would be better if we had multiple fallbacks if one does not work
-
jonas’
yes, maybe, not sure
-
jonas’
lovetox_, https://github.com/horazont/muchopper
-
lovetox_
thanks i check it out
-
jonas’
I will not provide any assistance in operating it though.
-
jonas’
this inlcudes "how do I even configure this there is no configuration template"
-
lovetox_
yes, understandable
-
jonas’
actually i got monitoring alerts about this, but in all seriousness: my mom also sent me awesome fog pictures and I got so distracted by that that I forgot about the pages :-X
-
jonas’
(anyone in fotografie@ will confirm that I live for fog pictures)
-
jonas’
… I am not happy about postgres taking multiple minutes to react to anything
-
jonas’
I hope the database isn't fried
-
Zash
Oh no, a Disaster Recovery weekend?
-
jonas’
I have backups
-
jonas’
humm.
-
jonas’
I should at some point take the time and get rid of the log monitoring, that'd free up lots of ram and disk space for such things.
-
pep.
I discovered zram thanks to Link Mauve, it allows you to delay the inevitable :P
-
jonas’
pep., honestly, ram is not the bottleneck here anymore.
-
jonas’
it would be a side benefit :D
-
jonas’
disk is the issue.
-
jonas’
lovetox, it's back!

cal0pteryx
jdev people: should we bring https://github.com/xsf/xmpp.org/pull/1290 to the finish line?
-
Guus
Blaming mom, really? 😅
-
Guus
How big is the issue? Is this a once in a few years deal, or something that warrants a few extra bytes of storage? If so, where is the GoFundMe?
-
Zash
Wish for some disks for xmas?
-
jonas’
Guus, sjn itself isn't what's filling up the disk, other stuff is.
-
jonas’
the worst offender are my just-for-fun accelerometer metrics, and it's a "every few weeks" issue really, though I often catch it before sjn is affected (because my metrics also break when it happens :D)
