  1. sch

    Beherit, greetings

  2. Schimon

    Kev, ^_^

  3. Schimon

From the Swift XMPP Client, yes?

  4. Kev

    Yes.

  5. Schimon

May I PM you about Swift?

  6. Schimon

Or is there a groupchat for swift?

  7. Schimon

TheCoffeMaker, did you tell Beherit (emus) about _your_ RSS bot? He might want to publish it on the newsletter.

  8. Beherit

Yes, its me, Dino (at least my outdated version) has/had some weird bug

  9. Kev

    > Or is there a groupchat for swift? Oh, right, that's dead at the moment isn't it. I forgot that.

  10. Kev

    > May I PM you about Swift? What sort of question is it? :)

  11. Schimon

Kev, minor general questions and technical issues at swift.im, if you may.

  12. Kev

If you drop me a mail kevin smith isode com, I'll try to reply when I've got a chance.

  13. Schimon

Beherit, my RSS bot is nearly done for a public beta release, once I add MUC support. https://gitgud.io/sjehuda/slixfeed

  14. Schimon

We also intend to add to that bot an XMPP service interface which would serve XMPP server admins.

  15. Schimon

    Great. Thank you, Kev.

  16. Schimon

Kev, the name of the other developers are Tobi and Remko, yes?

  17. Schimon

    Did I properly spell "Remko"?

  18. Kev

Somewhat complicated question. The original developers were Remko and me. Isode took on the project later, and assorted Isode people (including Tobi) have done work on it since.

  19. singpolyma

Several XEP say something like "If a XEP-0163-compliant personal eventing service is not available, a client SHOULD use a standalone Publish-Subscribe (XEP-0060) service" -- but has there been discussion on how any client would discovery what the pubsub service in use is or what the node chosen there was? Is this actually a useful thing to do?

  20. Zash

    That seems a bit outdated?

  21. singpolyma

Right, I mean it also seem unlikely that you have pubsub service and not pep on your server, but besides that fact heh

  22. Zash

    20 years ago maybe

  23. TheCoffeMaker

    > TheCoffeMaker, did you tell Beherit (emus) about _your_ RSS bot? He might want to publish it on the newsletter. nop I didn't ... don't know if it fits for a mention in the newsletter isn't something new ... but if u find something useful u are welcome https://codeberg.org/TheCoffeMaker

  24. TheCoffeMaker

I mean, compared to other projects they are just small tools 😅️

  25. Schimon

Remko was the one to add RTL support, before Swift had WebKit backend added.

  26. Schimon

I recall his commit. I was astounded to see that he has made a perfect work, just by following hints from standards (unicode characters with assigned directions). He did the research within less than a couple of hours and... voila!

  27. Schimon

And I suppose he doesn't read/write in a semitic language.

  28. Schimon

    Just my 2 cents...

  29. singpolyma

Is there any way to say I want notifications about my own PEP nodes without asking for my contact's PEP nodes?  I guess sending a manual subscription...

  30. moparisthebest

    > I discovered zram thanks to Link Mauve, it allows you to delay the inevitable :P zram really feels like black magic, the old promise of downloading more RAM fulfilled

  31. Schimon

TheCoffeMaker, perhaps we can make a newsletter with mention of AtomToPubsub, Morbo and Slixfeed.

  32. TheCoffeMaker

    be my guest :D

  33. Schimon

    Great
