Misplacing ~65k EUR and asking about that in seemingly random group chats. Interesting approach.

  8. lovetox

6 Bitcoin is 384k euro today

  9. Guus

That makes randomly inquiring about it with strangers even more insane.

I already asked in xmpp:iot@muc.xmpp.org?join, but as I feel pretty lonely over there, I spam this MUC, too: I would like to collect some marketing bla, about the advantages of XMPP for IoT compared to other protcols, such as MQTT. So far, I have I have two: 1. Batteries included. Not (much) need for any plumbing work. Everything is there, e.g. SASL, roster, PubSub/PEP. 2. XMPP allows for seamless integration of {human,machine}-to-{human,machine} communication, while other protocols are either IoT or human chat. What else? Any ideas?

maybe poke Peter Waher - there's more first-hand experience with them, I believe.

debacle: there's some marketing bla at https://xmpp.org/uses/internet-of-things/ - did you see that?

  17. debacle

Guus, I totally forgot about that page. It probably needs some rework, e.g. things that do not exist in real world should be removed, because that gives a wrong impression. EXI is such a thing. But I'm totally motivated now to document my companys IoT application, so that it can be linked from that page ;-)

  18. Guus

EXI does exist in the real world! https://discourse.igniterealtime.org/t/developing-openfire-efficient-xml-interchange-exi-functionality (although to my knowledge, no-one is using it ;) )
