Greetings. xmpp:openhardware@conference.magicbroccoli.de?join apparently has more than 1000 participants, but my client shows 0.

What is the reason?

Which client? Where does it show 0? Is that a count of zero, or it shows no participants? ✏

Monocles and Conversations.

Cheo also shows a wrong participant number (2 at last check)

From a graphical client, but one supporting text commands might still work. Regardless, it's a server bug, and bugs cause problems

FWIW I looked at my debug logs, and they proudly show no other presences than my own are received

I'd be curious if the (GUI) clients allow banning with 0 presences.

they could, but the UI may vary (since banning is affiliation setting a JID to outcast)

yeah, the person doesn't need to be currently present to be banned, that'd be silly

did anyone ever used gloox library? Could someone give me a brief consultation?

I seem to struggle to make it work with starttls, may be it's something common?

Try a different server first to make sure it's not a server problem?

That would be quite awkward, my server is running about 350 active clients just now, if there is a server config problem I'd be pretty much interested to solve it first! 😅 ✏

I kinda have pretty verbose logs from gloox, it's just I don't know the sequence of those early stage handshakes...

the xep for mix mentions fmuc, but i can't seem to find any reference to it other than that one line in the stated goals
