UsL: I once had this problem with ejabberd 17.08, but thats now solved

  2. UsL

I solved it! It was Gajim all along. I purged my config and caches and started out with a fresh config and before I added any accounts I enabled all my plugins. Wicd included and then I started to add accounts. And voila. No connection losses and no missing key icons from the server field in the roster and no more perpetual connecting statuses. It all works like a charm now.

  3. UsL

heh, yeah. We used "jabber" on my old workplace as the internal IM system. We used that dated Cisco jabber client. Felt pretty cramped when you knew what happened with clients and servers outside that Cisco environment. Gajim, Conversations, poezio, prosody, ejabbered are miles ahead of that. And I think of them as XMPP software. Not "Jabber". Even though I understand the points made about it..

  4. UsL

    it being Jabber.

  5. UsL

    totally wrong tab, btw..

  6. Neustradamus

Gajim, Psi, Pidgin is XMPP ^^

  7. Neustradamus

    Gajim, Psi, Pidgin: XMPP ^^

  27. edhelas

what am I doing with those, blacklisting all the servers ?

  28. Ge0rG

    edhelas: complain to the admins

  29. edhelas

    which admins ?

  30. edhelas

those servers domains are generated each days

  31. edhelas

    for some of them

  32. edhelas

I'll not try to contact 1000 servers admins one by one to ask them gently to put some protection

  33. edhelas

what I'll do is simply write a script to check my archives logs, and if I find more than 5 accounts that are spamming from a server, automatically blacklist it

  34. Ge0rG

edhelas: the server domains are all abandoned IBR servers.

  35. Ge0rG

edhelas: which is why I wrote the Manifesto

  36. Maranda

edhelas why not using something like mod_block_strangers or something?

  37. Maranda

It's very dumb bots after all

  38. Ge0rG

    mod_block_strangers is horrible.

  39. Maranda

They try to message mucs even without joininh

  40. Maranda

    Ge0rG not sure, I don't use that anyways, I got mod_spim_block 😜

  41. Maranda

And now even 2days autoban for servers making more than x spim hits.

  42. UsL

dammit, gajim reverted back to its faulty state again.. Sigh..
