XMPP Service Operators - 2019-01-03

Is the xmpp.net observatory fundamentally broken now? What was the other copy of it someone had running? I don't seem to have bookmarked it.

mike, xmpp.net is slowly being fixed, but I have limited time

It should be working currently for servers that don't need SRV records

and hopefully soon I'll be able to deploy a fix that makes SRV records work

MattJ: ah that explains a lot about why it was hit and miss and why none of my servers work. Didn't mean to imply I was overly concerned or impatient, just that I thought there was another copy out there.

The original developer has moved on as far as we can tell, but much of the code is based on code I originally wrote, so I'm gradually figuring things out

mike: That other copy broke down at some point and I wasn't motivated enough to fix it.

All the code and docker files are moving to a new org on Github, so it should be easier to run new instances in the future

I'll happily keep one online somewhere one it's sorted out then.
