jjrh: Is there anyone ever in any of the IETF chatrooms? I used to hang out in a bunch, but don't remember ever seeing others. And certainly never saw any actual chatting.

sol, coworker was having issues connecting to that MUC, I tried to join and failed. I think there is something broken. In the past there has been people in the room (along with the session rooms) during a meeting.
