    I think I got purple-discord working with spectrum. still experimenting.

    I'm really only doing it so I can keep in touch with one or two people who refuse to use anything but discord because they suck :P

    I think we should all consider trying out pylink's discord plugin though, it makes a great bridge from irc to discord

    it can be a very strategic tool for yanking people away from discord

    in theory, pylink-discord + biboumi can make it seem like all your discord friends are on xmpp, althouhg I haven't yet tested it to be sure

    I set up my current public bnc with bitlbee attached so users can speak with friends on other protocols

    all from the comfort of irc, I'm hoping this will get more of them to quit leaving

    At least, from the IRC side. From discord I think it just appears as one bot.

    yeah, that's what I was trying to avoid. it looks like purple-discord handles multiple accounts and such. although the authentication is a bit of an issue

    yeah, authentication is a lot of work, I agree

    there's supposed to be some auth code you can add to the account prefs, but for some reason it's not in the browser anymore. so 🤷
