    bump.

  10. Link Mauve

The most widespread way is to use XHTML-IM for that: https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0071.xml

  11. Locci90

Hello! I got a problem with my jaber account: I created an XMPP account with jabber.calyxinstitute.org with Pidgin; the problem is that when I join to a chat-goup, my messages do not appear in the window of the chat, I can see the messages of the other users, but I cannot see my messages... any help?

  12. Licaon_Kter

Locci90: don't use Pidgin, it's no longer developed (at least the xmpp part) Use Dino or Gajim

  13. Locci90

Licaon_Kter I'm a Linux user, what should I do instead of Pidgin?

  14. Licaon_Kter

    Locci90: dino.im What distro?

  15. Locci90

    Licaon_Kter Linux MInt

  16. Licaon_Kter

See downloads, OBS debs I guess....to get the latest

  17. Locci90

    Licaon_Kter OBS? what is it?

  18. Licaon_Kter

A SUSE service that builds distro packages (not only for SUSE) see the site ;)

  19. jonas’

I suggest to go with gajim instead of dino at the moment.

  20. jonas’

    if you’re coming from pidgin

  21. Locci90

    jonas’ does Gajim uses OTR?

  22. Licaon_Kter

    Locci90: use OMEMO instead, though

  23. Locci90

    ok, thank you

    Spam from $$$$$@31337.life @CyborgHawk https://telegra.ph/HQ-ADVERT-SERVICE--HQ-REKLAMA-10-14

  25. 404.city

    >Locci90‎: jabber.calyxinstitute.org have invalide s2s

  26. 404.city

I don’t remember what the problems are with calyxinstitute.org; they didn’t seem to list all the domains in the certificate.

  27. Ge0rG

according to XEP-0157 on 31337.life, the admin's JID is admin@vipclub.pm and I contacted him and he said: > but he doesn't spam from our domain, [...] you was spammed by this jid, so write to admin of [...] and ask him to delete this spam bot

  28. Ge0rG

    > we do not delete $$$$$@31337.life - because he doesn't spam from our domain, because he doesn't spam our users

  29. Licaon_Kter

    Wat?

  30. Ge0rG

also, to paraphrase, if the account is deleted, he'll just create a new account on a different server and start spamming users on vipclub

  31. Ge0rG

technically, as the spam messages come from other servers than this one, and $$$$$@31337.life is just _mentioned_ in the spam messages, it's hard to argue a block of that service

  32. Maranda

    God bless mod_spim_block

  33. Maranda

    🤓

  34. 404.city

Ge0rG, I will be sending information about spam sources to this conference. Spam bots can be on any server; spam bots are pointless to ban. In XMPP, spammers are so arrogant that they send feedback to order spam. 😀

  35. Ge0rG

404.city: yes, please go on; the reporting is valuable
