How's the jabber.org migration going on? Any news on that front?
-
MattJ
Struggling to find time right now, but ongoing
-
MattJ
waqas has written a bunch of migration scripts, the next step is testing
-
tom
Good luck with that

I guess it's a big challenge to migrate a big server like jabber.org that has been around for ages.
-
benharri
what kind of migration are they doing?
-
Martin
From an old isode version to prosody.
-
benharri
ah ok, noted
-
tom
Why you moving off isode?
-
Martin
Maybe MattJ volunteered to take care of jabber.org and somehow he's more familiar with prosody. But that's only my assumption.

I've been a jabber.org admin through ejabberd and M-Link :)
-
MattJ
It's been running M-Link for something like 8 years, it's time for a change... it will be good to get back to open-source, and hopefully get a bit more agile again
-
MattJ
M-Link has been pretty reliable in the long term, and Isode have supported the service well
-
Holger
Next turn is Tigase or Openfire? :-)
-
MattJ
But the service has been fairly static for a while, and I think the move to Prosody will hopefully bring a bit more life into it

Holger
👍
-
MattJ
Can't rule it out :)

MattJ
stpeter said once that he thought every server team should have the opportunity at some point :)
-
Holger
Hehe.
