Two different standards for same application? conflicts, confustion, duplicate efforts, etc ..

Btrfs doesn't have built in encryption, so you either do block level under it or file level on top

You can use LUKS or Geli with ZFS too, but you don't need to because zfs encrypted datasets exist

Be careful not to encrypt your boot disk

and according to the source I am looking right now, it covers your life-partner and anyone up to 3rd grade directly related, so basically your full extended family

also funny: if your priest runs your XMPP server, this also falls under special protection in Germany. Maybe time to start that Spaghetti Monster idea again 😉

(this actually includes anyne working with your priest, so basically that might be an interesting legal loop-hole for server operators)

If I understand the law the right way, I have to offer every information (incl. passwords) to the gov, regardless if my brother or a friend is written hatespeech. The person isn't known by me, because he only use a pseudo not his clearname.

My understanding is that if you know it is your direct relative you can refuse implicating him/her

but of course that is an indication for his/her "crime" and thus the authorities can further press charges

what I wonder about this new german law is, from what size on do you count as a "large" social media provider

because apparently that makes a difference if you have to proactively share data with authorities now

In my opinion, Zeugnisverweigerungsrecht (§52StPO) applies to the whole trial. The idea of §52 is to keep the loalty and integrity of the family untouched, which refers to Art. 6I Grundgesetz. I'm pretty sure, one can't force you to actively contribute to a trial that is directed against a person that meets the requirements stated in §52I StPO. In such a case, I'd always refer to Zeugnisverweigerungsrecht. The next step for authorities would be a judical decision, where this case would be proved by a judge. That applies to german law only and I'm no lawyer, so consider this as an opinion only.

"Large" was defined in the "old" NetzDG If you have more than 100k users or be longer than 2 years active. The "you will have to earn money withit" is regardless, because each ad may bring you money. Each "Dackelzüchterverein" could be hitten, but automatic sharing will be only for the real big one. The erase-duty within 1 hour will be the second step after first step 4 hours.
