  8. mjk

  9. edhelas

but it's the third time they are contacting me

  10. mjk

Ah, right, those would demand removing articles

  11. Licaon_Kter

    edhelas: you're lazy I see

  12. edhelas

    Licaon_Kter ?

  13. Licaon_Kter

    > but it's the third time they are contacting me :)

  14. edhelas

Yeah, the support team is kinda busy right now

  15. rozzin

edhelas: I get e-mail like that all the time, asking if I would publish something onto "my website" where the website that they're talking about is a GNU social group. I usually respond that they're welcome to just post to it themselves from another GNU social site, and tell them to let me know if they'd like my help setting their own up or finding an open community social hub to join. Occasionally they actually respond thoughtfully. More often the same e-mail just keeps coming.

  16. edhelas

    rozzin oh interesting

  17. edhelas

fun thing is that they are actually doing the effort of contacting the admin

  18. mjk

Everything outside email would be out-of-band for them, too much effort :) The only ones who don't think that way are xmpp spammers probably

  19. mjk

But for them, email would be oob

  20. rozzin

It doesn't take much effort for me to send those responses, and *usually* the thing they're asking to post wouldn't actually be out of place in the group feed that they identified. So it often seems like a reasonable risk/reward to try to introduce people publishing articles to the `platforms' that I want more people to be using.

  21. moparisthebest

no asking how much they'd pay? maybe it's enough to sponsor a good chunk of work? :P

  22. mjk

That's not James Veitch talk material

  23. mjk

    Too genuine, I mean :))

  24. moparisthebest

everyone has a price, no use being ashamed about it

  25. mjk

    Sure
