  1. inky

    biboumi users here?

  2. inky

I just found a log of this room from 2020 about my question, but still don't know exactly how to proceed.

  3. inky

I have set up biboumi, it works well with my prosody.

  4. inky

But i have no idea how to authenticate with registered user now.

  5. inky

should i always use not regitered users?

  6. diane

Biboumi has it's own MUC biboumi@muc.poez.io which will likely know more.

  7. inky

    Oh

  8. inky

    Thaaank you

  9. diane

Though there was a couple of ways of indicating your password to the IRC server documented in https://github.com/louiz/biboumi/blob/master/doc/user.rst

  10. diane

sadly not a lot of modern clients support the XMPP ad-hoc commands.

  11. diane

i had to use psi to do the configuration

  12. inky

    oh

  13. inky

that's why i have a problem? trying to udo that with pidgin.

  14. diane

Looks like pidgin is supposed to support ad-hoc commands.

  15. diane

dino-im and conversations seem to lack it

  16. MattJ

It does support ad-hoc commands, at least with your own server. I don't know if it can support it on arbitrary services - but possibly. If it can, look for a service discovery browser with an "execute command" or similar option

  17. moparisthebest

as a short-term hack that will work until you are disconnected from IRC, you can always chat xmpp:nickserv%yourircserver@yourbiboumi and send `identify yourpasswordhere`

  18. inky

moparisthebest: let me try doing that. adding nickserv.
